VI was probably great when it came out in the 90s but it didn't really age well. Its kind of just a really boring standard RPG nowadays with some good moments. Its a pretty good game but it just doesn't offer something substantial thats never been matched since like the others.

IX, even though I still enjoyed it. The battle system is painfully slow and the plot has some major pacing problems.

Also don't get why people saying VI. I played it for the first time in 2015 and it was great. Then played it again last year and still loved it. In fact it's the only Final Fantasy I've played to completion more than once. Despite trying to start VII, IX and X up again

I couldn't disagree more with all the VI hate here. I played it for the first time last year and absolutely loved it. Thought it held up fine, but I don't play many RPGs.

X on the other hand I've tried to play three different times and never made it past 10 hours in. I know it opens up later, but walking in a straight line for hours on end is not fun.

VI is so unbelievably boring nowadays. IX is unbelievably boring in any time period. VIII sucks ass but I see a lot of people agree so I won't say it's overrated.

That's what does it for me. Coupled with a lot of characters I really don't particularly care for and...X is definitely in my bottom 3 FFs.

I'm shocked IV isn't getting more hate. It does not overstay its welcome, and is what I would call the best FF game to gateway into.

But ALL THE FUCKING PORTS, REMASTERS AND AFTER YEARS...

No thanks Japan. IV and Lightning may be more popular than Jesus over there, but too much is too much.

Having re-played it recently, VIII is the definition of a beautiful mess. There was heart on display, it's just a shame so much of it fell on the floor and smashed into weird ass pieces. So much of the gameplay and story execution is wonky stupid fun.

XIII has no heart at all. It just looks pretty.

But I like Squall! Its mainly because of Zell and Rinoa and the mechanics why I hate that game.

And its still better than Driving simulator 15. (didn't vote for that because no one likes that game)

I know this is a hate topic, but I don't understand all the hate for Final Fantasy 6

I thought Final Fantasy 15 surely would have received the most criticism seeing as it was released unfinished, full of simple fetch quests, and then sold you parts of the story to have it try to make sense

Also, follow the map until you reach X marks the spot, and then spam the happy button while your AI buddies play the game for you

It was just... bad
