I one shot the second plague lord on normal and heroic. C'Thun was never played in either of them, if it wasn't for the fact that I've seen it played against other players I'd swear that they forgot to even put it in the deck.

The regular run I had two copies of the passive that duplicates legendary minions when you play them, and my deck had a lot of 2-5 cost legendary minions and I think four copies of Grumble. I also got +2/+2 buffs on some of them from Bob. Kangor, Thekal, Glass Knight, Thalnos, Wickerflame all summoning two extra copies of themselves, into Grumble putting them back in my hand to summon another three each for 1 made the final boss easy. I pretty much ignored his hero powers and just overwhelmed him from start to finish.

The heroic run I had the treasure that gave my minions +1 health and taunt, and the one that gave them poisonous if they cost 2 or less. Finleys treasure that produces 2/1 minions also works with it, so I drafted mostly cheap minions and 80% of my deck and my hero power produced poisonous taunt minions. Unlike the regular run this one took a lot longer and required more thinking about what I was doing rather than puking out a ton of stats every turn, but I still never saw C'Thun.

I cleared the second plague lord on Heroic with Reno by managing to pull off the secret deck. Treasures were -1 enemy minion attack, Runaway Gyrocopter, Draw 2 more per turn/Immune Fatigue, and the Hearthstone (which is stupidly powerful on its own). Turns out you can find another Hearthstone with the "Discover a treasure" power, so I looped to Bob's tavern 3 times and cleared.

The secret plan is nowhere near consistent in Heroic Wing 2 though, there are a ton of dangerous bosses that can show up in the first 3 encounters.

So...I saw a decklist for Wild Even Paladin, including Arfus and Nzoth. Looked ridiculous, I tried it, and proceeded to win a lot.

Didn't have some cards, though, (Val'anyr, Skulking Geist, Enter the Coliseum, and Sir Finley of the Sands) so I made some replacements (Murloc Knight, Lightfused Stegodon, Justicar Trueheart, Avenging Wrath).

Deck is pretty great. Zephrys tends to just auto-win games. And the deck still wins a fair bit without Zephrys; it plays some midrange minions, hits face, and has some silence and shrink cards if the opponent tries to put up a big taunt.

Arfus hasn't exactly been flooring me, but I guess it's there for N'Zoth.

Oh hey cards from Wild being made temporarily eligible for Standard, complete with everyone being given non-disencantable copies of them. Ragnaros and NZoth are the examples given.

Khartut Defender seems pretty good with Nzoth.

Rag I dont know about (since the Meta is crawling with Lackeys and small tokens) but I guess he can be good in Highlander decks as a curve play and the fact that hes an elemental so you can draw him with Sandbinder (though maybe pulling Zephyrs or Siamat is better)

Beat a Bomb Warrior today by fatiguing him because he played Elysiana when he still had a dozen or so cards left in his deck. Had four health left at the end and only won because I burned eight of the nine bombs he put in my deck during the game. Halazzi -> Hunting Party -> Ramkahen Wildtamer -> Zul'Jin is a great way to keep a constant supply of stats on the board while never having to draw a card.

It is. Khartut Defender single-handedly revived N'zoth in multiple classes in wild, possibly the best minion they've ever printed for N'zoth. I'm running that combo right now in wild Reno Even Paladin, and it's Even Paladin, it's still kind-of an aggro deck.

Sylv is a huge deal, partially because it powers up N'Zoth, but more specifically because of Nine Lives in Hunter. Spell hunters in wild started running Sylv because of how good Nine Lives is. If Sylv is your only deathrattle, you're guaranteed to steal some minions when you play Zul'Jin. Remember you can tutor her out of your deck with Master's Call if you don't have too many minions.

Curator...I think only a few specific classes are going to want it. Like...highlander Paladin can draw Finley off of it, so that's probably worth. There's no azure drake this time.

Thaurissan...might enable mech'a'thun warlock or power up malygos druid? I'm not expecting whole new archetypes from it, honestly.

Druid got Kun and Astral Comunion. Kun gets slammed into every Quest Druid I'm sure (it's a choose 1 card). It might enable some combos where you Floop the Kun.

Rogue...someone else pointed out to me that Swashburglar is a huge deal because it can mean an active Underbelly Fence on turn 2. Shaku is decent, but not game-changing; you can run 3 blink foxes basically.

Shaman...so evolve shaman is big in wild right now, using Desert Hare+Evolve (on top of the clasic Dopplegangster+Evolve). Mogu Fleshshapper is good enough for wild too. I'm not sure about Thing from Below--not a ton of toteming happening in standard shaman decks right now, but it's a potential evolve target.

Mage...Flamewaker and Babbling Book...they're trying to give mage a power boost obviously.

Warlock...Renounce Darkness and Imp Gang Boss. Renounce is meme. Imp Gang Boss is a good stand-alone card, but ehhh, standard zoo is super taxed for deck space right now. It wants to run a magic carpet package AND a diseased vulture package AND a lackey package; what do you even cut for Imp Gang Boss?

Priest...Lightbomb is a huge deal obviously; probably makes control priest a real thing. (Voljin is a very strong removal card too).

Warrior...man, I know Bloodhoof Brave was good before, but Warrior's 4 drop slot is super stacked. Restless Mummy, Militia Commander, Kor'kron elite in aggro decks, Omega Devastator in control decks, Wrenchcalibur in bomb decks. Bloodhoof Brave used to be good but it may or may not end up getting cut from most warrior lists. Varian...I have a deck I'd test him in. He does need a pretty specific kind of deck, though.

Hunter...Call of the Wild sounds scary with Zuljin. Lock and Load might be a real thing now thanks to cheap twinspells like Rapid Fire, but I'm skeptical.

Paladin...Mysterious Challenger and Avenge...these sound like a big deal, but secret pally is so out of the meta in both Standard and Wild that honestly these might not be that scary. Divine Favour isn't coming back, so if you draw a bunch of secrets and empty your hand on turn 4, you're probably out of cards for the rest of the game.

Doesn't need to be. That is legitimately the best card they've ever made.

I dunno about that; I have 11 wild decks build right now, and I think I have Thaurissan in...none of them.

Looking at wild, he is the 5th most used neutral card in wild, though. He goes into like...combo decks, and Reno decks with high curves. Which...ok, yeah, Highlander decks running 10 drops like N'Zoth are a legit use case. Highlander Mage and Highlander Hunter probably both slam Thaurissan, and maybe N'Zoth decks in general do.

Maybe he enables an Archmage Antonidas deck in standard? Although...wait, are there any spells left in standard that copy Sorc Apprentice? Cause I don't think 2x Faceless Manipulator will be enough with just one Thaurissan tick.

Play LPG with Tony or 2x Faceless or 1x faceless and 2x sorc apprentice in your deck.

Get all five combo pieces into hand.

Play Thaurissan

Then kill your opponent

Like...jfc is that actually easier than Mech'a'thun? Mech'a'thun you just need thaurissan to discount a the second half of Ray of Frost, snap freeze, and Mech'a'thun. (And then empty your hand; I guess emptying your hand might suck if Research Project is the last card in your deck).

It's only casual and trash ladder ranks so it's not like this is much of an accomplishment, but I'd be surprised if I haven't won at least 80% of my games this month with Whizbang. Just beat Quest Shaman and Control Warrior in back to back games at rank 14, both with Quest Warrior. It's even more fun considering I still don't know what's in most of these decks so half the time I have no idea what to mulligan for or to try and draw into. I just get what I get each turn.

Going to be upset when Whizbang rotates.

They should honestly keep whizbang. They update the decks with standard compliant decks anyways so you would never play wild card with it.

Always fun when Warrior gets 28 extra armor, 2 extra Zilliax, 2 extra snip snaps, 2 extra Omega Devastator, and I have to deal with Subject 9 being drawn last after all my secrets, Kill Command last in library, Zuljin bottom 5, and Zephrys as card 29.

A mana nerf was CLEARLY not enough of a nerf. Blast Shield absolutely 100% needs to go. Its utterly indefensible.

Wait, hold on, with baleful banker we can dump the faceless manipulators and the LPG/Jepetto.

Augmented Elek, Sorc Apprentice, Banker, Banker, there's five sorc apprentices in your deck now.

Then just draw four Sorc Appentices, Tony, and Thaurissian those. 6+1+1+1+1.

That sounds a lot more reliable.

I mean, if it's a fake it's a really smart one.

* Came from a fairly high level player who's aiming to get into GM, could plausibly get the list from a GM friend.
* Has a lot of fan favourite cards
* Doesn't have a lot of hated cards or cards that reddit kept predicting (no Genn, no Baku, no death knights)
* Doesn't have cards that would be weird like quests (you cant have two quests active at once)
* Doesn't have singleton cards like Reno or Kazakus (highlander decks are already good in standard, and already gain a lot from adding a bunch of legendaries)
* Has strong support for decks that are bad in standard (secret paladin support, lots of mage support with mage being the least played class, control priest support with cards that probably don't go into the dominant priest deck).

Like...it's a pretty well thought-out list.

There's maybe three aspects of this list that make me skeptical: Evolve seems a bit strong for quest shaman. Kun seems a bit strong for Quest Druid. And I would expect more support for a control warlock, although...I'm not sure what the control warlock support card would be. (Defile is probably out cause none of the other cards rotated out this year, so maybe Voidcaller or Mal'Ganis?)

Then again, if the list had nothing that looked like a mistake I'd also find this suspicious. The boomsday buffs obviously had a mistake or two in retrospect.

Well if the idea is only stuff from Kraken or earlier (seems to be the theme) I guess a good warlock card would be Darkbomb, but everything else is kinda bleh. Most of the good renolock cards from that era were neutrals

Actually Abyssal Enforcer would be decentish too.

I think thats something I expect tbh, since Mammoth just rotated out and it doesnt really make sense to bring anything back from it

I don't believe the list is true at all. Why would they bring back cards they specifically rotated out? And emp is never coming back. Too many potential combo shenanigans already.

We know theyre bringing 23 cards back for sure, since there was an official post on it on Thursday. Its supposed to be a meta shakeup event, to fill the time between expansions. The specific leaked list isnt confirmed aside from the two examples, but the official list will be revealed on Friday.

I started tracking it. In 60% of my games, I draw Subject 9 after all of my secrets. There is a only one other secret tutor in the deck. This is the type of nonsense that proves tabletop shuffling is superior to RNG computerized BS.

Druid is far and away my least favorite class, and as I'm not really playing anything but Whizbang it feels like a perfect time to get Druid to 60. Any suggestions? Eleven games in and so far Mukla feels like the weakest card.

That deck looks incredibly frustrating to play against. Also feels like you'd end up with hand size issues of your own.

I'd also wreck it with my favorite deck, jade shaman running double devolve and double hex.

It's 9or10-1 so far in the trash ranks, but the one loss came against the only deck I faced that felt like it was actually built from a somewhat complete collection. Everyone else feels like they're playing a deck from 2016 and are just logging in for the first time in three years. Paired against C'Thun three times, and none of them seemed to have any modern cards at all.

The only issue I've had so far with hand size was the Quest Mage who hit me with a Research Project that milled a Deathlord and a... Spreading Plague? Not sure of the second card. I still have no idea what the quest was in their deck for, as he didn't run Antonidas, Giants or any other type of OTK or even powerful swing cards to take advantage of it with. He played it at the end of a turn, and then spent his entire free turn playing a pair of random minions.

i finally cleared wing 3 on Heroic today - I ended up running the token Druid deck in the end, since it worked so well with the tomb. Trying with Mage of any variety was pretty miserable before that, though. I fully broke Jythiros of Questions once, which was fun, and the played deathrattles gain reborn treasure was really strong. Wing 4 opens tomorrow, and I think Im actually looking forward to it.
