I remember reading that Weinstein still seemed to be under the impression that things were going to blow over and he was going to be able to go back to his old pre-people-knowing-he-was-a-piece-of-shit-sexual-assaulter life. Guess Spacey must think the same thing!

Is he doing an existing character? I don't understand. In any case that's some level of narcissism and detachment from reality.

EDIT - oh that's his House of Cards character? I never watched it. That's even weirder than him just speaking as himself.

Poor Kevin, he looks so bad in the video
No makeup or good camera quality or good clothes, he looks like a mess

Also this Youtube comment sums up this video perfectly-
These three minutes were more entertaining than the entire 6th season of House of Cards.

Did anyone here watch it? no? go and do it. This is one of the worst seasons in TV history. It's a complete mess from start to finish. A disasterous trainwreck

HoC was bad since S1, but at least it was charming enough. It lost its charm and was just plain bad in S2, and then in S3 they really put in a ton of effort to make the worst show they possibly could. I can't imagine how bad it was 3 more seasons later.

well he was the main character and they had to like totally rewrite the last season to somehow not be about the show's main character anymore so that can't have helped

I got to the episode in season 2 where he straight up decided to be a serial killer. That pretty much ruined any chance I could take it seriously.

I agree it isn't realistic much but I thought those scenes were good, the peak was definitely S2E1 and the whole show should have ended with "the knock"
Everything went downhill fast after that
S6 is the worst by far, they jump from plotline to plotline without resolving them, it's just a mess
But S5 had it's own share of stupid moments too like Frank pushing Catherine Durant to fall from stairs...and she gets into coma. From falling...LITERALLY 4 stairs
https://imgur.com/bpEpk0t
I wish I was kidding
Also Claire kills that Tom guy for no reason and that "Frank's Ancestor" actor guy fall in love with Frank and they kiss and then he suicides because Frank quit being a president

The thing that made it super stupid was that he needed her to either die or fall into a coma from falling a few steps, which certainly isn't a guarantee. If she just broke her hip and started screaming he would've been even more screwed than before. There's absolutely no reason they couldn't have just had the scene take place at a much larger staircase.

If you are walking and slip on ice you can still hit your head hard enough to lose consciousness, if you lose consciousness you can fall into a coma. I'm not defending the writing of this show in any means just the fact that any fall can be serious.

True
There is a scene in Dunkirk where someone is pushed down a few stairs by mistake, lose consciousness, then a few minutes later wake up and say he can't see anything, and then later dies
But it's not the only problem with that scene
It was too luck based, it was too risky, it had no future to it as she would say it was him pushing her, and like Roba said, there was just no reason at all to not make it be from a larger staircase

I couldn't put my finger on it but this is it. I'm usually a proponent of killing off your characters but this is why the show died to me even during S1, though I really gave it a good try for another two seasons.

I thought season one was totally fine and interesting because it was the buildup of the entire season, felt like it had gravity and consequences, everyone was careful, and the character was going to be playing cover up for the rest of his life.

The series was ruined in a few ways- first, when they got rid of consequences, and people could just kill whimsically. In season 1 they had to build this bullet proof background of alcoholism and depression. In season 2 they just walk past some security cameras, push someone into a train and hope the police never check her text messages. That one incident could've been sort of okay, and was a neat subversion of expextations, but they just kept getting zanier from there

Second, the whole series was predicated on the somehow special relationship between Frank and claire. In season 3 I think it was revealed they were just poor communicators, and that ruined any mystique that was left. It just became a normal drama

Can I also talk about the elephant in the room?
I really don't want to sound like Ulti, but it's not a secret House of Cards turned to be more feminist with every season
I mean, this is a thing that happened - (season 6 spoilers if for some reason you care)
https://imgur.com/hsODSRA
I just...what. They forced it way too much and it shows. I don't believe there is one single thing in media that didn't get worse once the writers decided to push their agenda into their product
You know me. You know what my opinions are. And I liked Life is Strange because it felt natural. It felt like they just decided that this is going to be the theme of the story and went with it
In House of Cards it just feels like they slapped it in because they wanted to create controversy or just push their agenda

so I wouldn't say it got that way more with every season

but yeah you can tell just by the trailer for season 6 that it was trying to appeal more to people who were mad at Kevin Spacey than it was House of Cards fans. Everything about season 6 seems to be a weird mix of pandering and self-protection

and I say as someone who considers himself a feminist

Why is a show "going feminist" a bad thing in and of itself? You can't post a screenshot of women in a room and say that that's inherently bad. I see people suspend their disbelief all the time but the second it's about empowered women it's tacked on and trying too hard, lol.

If it doesn't scream FEMINISM in caps bold letter I don't know what is
