pixel art is a medium, not an aesthetic. That's like saying you're bored of the polygonal 3D models with textures aesthetic. Just say you don't like 2D graphics

Are Vanillaware games "pixel art"? They're technically sprites made up of pixels, but no one would ever in a million years describe as such

Ehh, I can kinda understand her point. There's definitely a certain aesthetic that almost every 2D game is using. It feels like there's a lot of room to change things up, but a lot of them look identical

Vanillaware games are not pixel art, they're hand-drawn traditional animation. Same as Skullgirls, the most recent Shantae, Hollow Knight, Cuphead, etc

Any given 2D object in those games would correctly be called a "sprite" but that's a technical term that was misused enough that people now think "sprite" is interchangeable with "pixel"

Is Into The Breach actually that good? I played FTL quite a bit until I gave up on beating the final boss out of frustration. It was an okay game, like a 6/10 given its lack of depth

I'm just finishing day 2 but it's so god damn depressing to hear Brad go "oh I didn't have time to play it" on 95% of these games and then get super into explaining destiny 2 lore and fan theories

There is a momemt towards the end of Best Styyyyyyyle, when it seems like it's over then Alex and Brad bust out the Red Dead filibuster that is glorious.
