I'm here for debates and comparing games to each other. I don't get any entertainment from this podcast. I already know what these games ARE, there's nothing here for me.

I listened to 40 minutes just to know, and I'm super done.

Very upsetting they cut half of the awards out for this. What a bad call.

nono, I only want the positive! I feel like the traditional style is more positive than this. It's usually like "this was a really good moment in this game, and also these other games had even better moments, now lets talk about those next". Which is a fun celebration of worthy games

But this format is just...yet-another-review for each game that came out, and listing the plusses and minuses of each game yet again... there is barely any difference between this and every other bombcast/beastcast...

Okay as much as Black Turtle in this topic is just sad and not worth responding to, you realise the irony of complaining about somebody supporting a small game you've never heard of, then accusing them of not playing games, right? You do realise that.

Abby plays far more games than any of us, and is one of the most diligent staff members by all reports. She legitimately tries everything. BT, get out of this topic. You aren't adding anything, nor are you successfully trolling the "millennials". You're just making yourself look bad.

The God of War discussion is really good. I loved hearing where everybody was coming from regarding previous games, it framed their reactions in a different light. Abby made her points really well (though I do disagree on the Valkyries specifically), and was pretty clear that she liked it a lot too. It is silly how much attention has been given over 5 minutes of talk, though I will say that unlike last year the vast majority of the discussion has been very civil, I checked a bunch of sources and saw like three arseholes.

And one of them is in this very thread!

Anyway, it still has a shot but might have a tough time. HERE COMES INTO THE BREACH BAYBEEE

It's not a matter of perspective. She made a stupid point that was immediately shot down by Vinnie and the rest of the crew as just objectively wrong, and her response was to say 'ya whatever'

Guess she realized that people weren't going to blindly allow her virtue signalling, realized that her point was stupid and uninformed, and decided to cut her losses.

This is the same thing that happened last year with Dream Daddies, a shitty third rate graphic novel porno game, that somehow managed to get on to the GotY list because people were tired of listening to Abby repeat the word "cohesive" for 2 hours straight. Everyone is afraid of contesting her stupidity because the morons on Reddit (and here apparently) take any criticism of her as "sexism".
