Would you take $5000 to let a stranger use your computer? You won't meet them, they'll use your computer unsupervised for 15 minutes, and it will start 5 minutes from now. Are you ready to take the offer?

That's cool. It was only $500 and it'slike 4 or 5 years old. I can toss it and get a new one with a small portion of the 5K.

Depends on the computer. Some of the cheaper ones I could just destroy and buy a new one. The main ones would be too inconvenient to go that route so I wouldn't do it there.

If they're in on this, they're definitely going to do something fishy.

Jokes on them, because I'm pulling the plug on my router and locking down my cards on my phone. Afterwards, I'll wipe my whole computer and reset all my passwords. If they CP me it's coming from their internet, not mine.

Because I don't memorize my passwords. They're at least 20 characters and use lots of special characters. So I have text files. Even if I transfer them to flash drive and erase them from the drive I think the stranger, if good at tech, could still get to them.

Also, the stranger isn't paying you 5k. Some 3rd party is paying you in the name of science.

Sure, it's not like every stranger in the world would want to do something nefarious. Maybe they need to google something quick for a book report, or to prove their friend wrong in an argument about flat earth.

Besides, all my shit's backed up, and there is no language there barring me from temporarily disabling my internet until they're done. Plus, any important stuff like family photos are in password protected folders, so...

Yes, very much so. Go ahead and use my PC for 15 minutes.

Windows security is a joke, you can easily bypass Windows passwords.

I've done it by booting to a usb stick that disables the password altogether.

My friends used to go through all my shit all the time the second I left my room, so I started putting pictures of my dick literally everywhere. SD card, USB stick, desktop, pictures folder, my ceiling. They figured it out pretty quick. One buddy was like "Yeah I thought 'Well, there's (zebby's) dick. Maybe there'll be something else if I keep going.'"

*skips through fifteen camera pics*

"Nope."

Sure, but I take the hard drives out of my computer and have them boot the OS fresh fresh from a USB drive. I also unplug my computer from my router, and uninstall the wireless adapter. Immediately after the stranger is finished using my computer, I completely disassemble it and replace the motherboard, CPU, and GPU.

OK...but what are the chances that this random person is someone that knows how to do that let alone that those methods even exist?

How many people would even know how to do something like find the option to show hidden files and folders?

I guess I would have to know more about who this random stranger is. Realistically, I'd assume he's in on the gig for a reason, but a real "random person" would likely have no clue how to make a new folder, and wouldn't really have any kind of scam planned.

Definitely would have to know a tad bit more about the person. Since TC never said "random", I said that XD But they just said "stranger". So it could simply be someone you don't know but TC knows. And they don't further explain things much in the post.
