wtf I actually managed to beat the Legendary Bird trio battle on my first attempt, and with Robin (so I couldn't even use specials). Who am I and what did I do with me? Maybe the secret to being good at Smash is to be tired late at night.

After Liquid Snake crushed my soul the first time I encountered him, I beat him first try last night.

If you have the pairing, I'm convinced that Metal Face + Pseudo Palutena is the best combination for brute-forcing the toughest 1v1 or 1v2 fights.

Play team battles so you have the extra chance of a really good teammate carrying you to victory.

But just remember that you're doing team battles so you don't try fruitlessly to kill your teammate without realizing they're your teammate.

But just remember that you're doing team battles so you don't try fruitlessly to kill your teammate without realizing they're your teammate.

Fucking quick play does this to me randomly and it doesn't give great notification that you are in a team battle. Not enough that i notice over the frustration of being in a 4 way.

Depending on the stage Ive found its pretty easy to cheese it by just sucking people up with Kirby and jumping off the ledge. I know a lot of people struggle with The Boss, once I decided to use this strategy I beat her first try.

I think the fight I'm having the most trouble with now is this Belmont fight on the spirit board. Trevor I think? It's Shiek, Palutena, and Simon, and to top it off they throw in an Alucard assist. The most I've managed is to kill Shiek with low percents on the other two before dying.

Okay and this Donkey Kong & Lady fight can fuck off too. This stage is the worst. I feel like there's probably a fairly easy way to cheese this one though.

Hmm, yeah I guess that could work for this one too. It's just Donkey Kong starts above you and from what I've seen so far he moves around a lot so he may not cooperate in staying far enough away.

i was at 9.8 with gdorf at the Hands, had to use a ticket.... gained 0 afterwards ending with 9.8

I was like 9.2 with ike at hands and got to 9.8

Yeah, if you start with 9.9 and use a ticket, you won't drop to 9.8, but if you start the final round with 9.8, you can't die.

yeap mentioned before but early in I used Frey & Freya from Zangeki no Reginliev as long as I could, but then I also love that Stunt Race FX got representation again! (wasn't in SSB4 but had a sticker in Brawl)

So even though I'm massively under-powered I've been getting easy Ace Spirits by picking Ness and a bunch of strong throwing spirits and only choosing stages that have walk off edges. I just camp the edges and then toss them to their doom.

Also, is there any way to set it so the music so that all the songs for a given level have a reasonable chance of playing beyond going in and individually setting the level of every song for every stage? The way it's set up by default seems ridiculous. Why even bother putting in so much music if like >1/2 the songs in the game will never end up being heard?

There's usually only one or two of every song for each stage that's set to be played very high. So just set those down really low and it would match all the other songs more or less equally.

We set it to only play one song per stage!!

Also after some investigation, for some super bizarro reason every one online hears the same stage music. Why not make the music different for each individual? Its not like we can hear each others tvs on voice chat or fight to the rhythm.

Also we had someone in our arena who set the stage to ice climbers and the theme to nintendo land on repeat then they stalled for 5 matches. It was magnificently annoying and I appreciate that, but it does seem like an unneeded feature

I wish I could put stuff from different series on different stages... there's too much good Mega Man and Castlevania stuff to be confined to just one stage.

I was just coming in here to complain that it's too difficult to make sure music is evenly distributed! I wish you could rearrange the stage select by series, it would make that process a lot easier. Then I could make sure I pick appropriate songs for each stage from a series, while also making sure every song gets represented somewhere.

And yeah the series restrictions kinda messes up some of those songs that are relegated to "Other." They would be somewhat appropriate on certain series stages that they aren't able to be on.

I think the ability to make any song from a series to play on any stage in that series was a mistake. It makes it so much harder to choose the right songs per stage, and it's not like I want to have the original SMB music play on New Donk City anyway...
