I just dont talk about the last Jedi. I loved it a lot, but its all opinions, with random racism and anti feminism sprinkled in by different people. But there are plenty of non racist, non women hating people that just didnt like the movie.

Ive loved every Disney Star Wars movie a lot.

I enjoyed it. I also enjoyed episodes 4, 5, 6, and 7. I haven't seen episodes 1, 2, and 3. I will probably watch them eventually, but right now, I just don't have any interest in them. Not a huge fan of the series and couldn't care less about any changes or new directions the series will take.

People hate it because it sucks. Not rocket science. Imagine "professionals" actually approved a yo mama joke in 2017 let alone for a main star wars film.

Think about that. This script probably went through 20+ people in the upper echelon of Disney and no one thought it was stupid as hell.

If you really want to get into stupid bs like "DIS MOVIE ONLY WAS SED TO B BAD BY MISOGYNISTS!"

If you were to ask those same "misogynists" If they thought Leia was a bad ass in the originals, they would agree. She isnt a mary sue, can hold her own with a laser pistol and even choked out her captor jabba the hut. That scene has more female empowerment in 10 seconds then these Disney movies have collectively.

And I don't talk about it because there's no way anyone could ever convince me it's a good movie. I haven't watched the fan edit yet though. Maybe that's better given it's barely 80 minutes long and half the movie is cut out.

That doesn't mean the movie is good.

Critics can (and usually are) bought out to make good reviews and people were going to see it anyways because Star Wars. I mean if you really want an indicator, look how Solo did. One of the most popular characters in the Star Wars series and his origin story completely bombs all because it followed The Last Jedi. Even Rogue One pulled in great numbers and that was only an answer to a 20 year old Internet meme.

The original Star Wars movie was great, cleverly done, used future and all. The second two were barely average, the prequels are ludicrous self-parodies, and the unwatchable filler movies are just shameless exploitation of the franchise.

Yes, absolutely. Just like the only people who actually liked it are castrated SJW cucks.

Amazingly enough, there isn't a single normal person with justified opinions anywhere in the discussion at all. Apparently none of those people saw the movie, or they just thought it was meh and don't feel the need to talk about it.

I like how everyone who hates it is because of too much girl power.

I like all the Star Wars movies but I just don't like Last Jedi.

Made Luke a coward and a joke.

Finn and Roses storyline was worthless. The characters themselves are fine but are completely not important to the overall plot. You can take them out entirely and it doesn't effect the movie. What a waste of two new characters.

They changed Poe and made him a complete ass just to push Holdo into being the hero. It was completely unnecessary to do it that way they could of just made her in charge after the explosion. She could of still been the hero. Even though it would of been better if she would of lived to have leadership for the next movie and had Ackbar ram the ship in hyperspace after staying his famous line. Another waste of a new character.

Running out of Gas in space. Bad writing. The opening battle. Bad writing. Snoke being no one. Bad writing. No real lightsaber duel with Luke. Bad writing.

I did like how Rey is the new hero, who cares if she is overpowered for now. Kylo Ren is not as whiny as in TFA. Finn and Rose could be great together if they had a good storyline. Poe as a pilot not a leader.

All of the movies have problems but this one almost seemed to destroy everything the entire saga was building too.

If you cut out literally everything that isn't Rey, Kylo, or Luke, you could salvage a good film out of it.

As is, I'd rather watch the prequels. And I hate that the movie is so terrible that it makes me say that.

I found it was one of those movies that was enjoyable enough to watch at the time, but the moment I started thinking about it, it fell apart. There are just so many things in it that don't make sense, not the least of which is that the only thing it accomplished in the grand story is that the rebels ended the movie in exactly the same position as they started, only on a different planet and with a few people dead and ships destroyed. I think the reaction to it is absurdly overblown and people are getting far too angry over basically nothing, but it just wasn't a very good movie.

The movie has anti-oppression themes at every level. It has no human substance. No real moral complexity and no real character development. It's just the oppressed rising up. The film seriously comes off like a piece of propaganda.

Rey rebels against Luke Skywalker, symbolically against the idea of noble lineage itself
Luke and Yoda rebel against tradition
Kylo rebels against Luke as a child
Kylo rebels against Snoke as an adult
The oppressed children are depicted as on the path to rebellion against the wealthy elite on the arms dealer planet

The one case in which the aesthetic of rebellion is clearly reversed is with Poe, who symbolizes masculinity. His rebellion against the female leadership fails and he is depicted as entitled.

Yeah, anti-oppression is nothing new to Star Wars. The original trilogy was a bunch of rebels fighting against an oppressive empire. The prequels were a mix of Anakin struggling against the overbearing restrictions of the Jedi order and a handful of rebels rallying behind the Jedi order to rebel against an increasingly-oppressive empire. And now episodes 7, 8, and presumably 9 are about the Rebels mk. 2 struggling against the Empire mk. 2.

I could go on a big spiel, but I won't ... so here's the highlights

1. They waste the main villain, all the build up gone
2. They waste Luke, all the build up gone
3. Almost half an hour is wasted on Luke being a doink explaining all the different points of view about Kylo
4. The moral learned on the pleasure planet is wasted and immediately subverted
5. I don't think Rey and Finn even interact once in the movie...
6. They waste the secondary villain, all the build up gone
7. THE ENTIRE C-PLOT ABOUT THE MAIN REBEL SHIP
8. The First Order as a whole, except for one scene, wasted

Basically the whole movie is "how can we waste everything we set up"

Yeah actually even though TFA was extremely derivative it was still a well made and entertaining film. I at least looked forward to what they would do with it in the sequels. Now honestly I only want to see episode 9 to see how Abrams tries to pull the trilogy out of the pit it dug itself into. I have no emotional investment in it.

While I did enjoy 7 and 8 as a whole and want to see 9... I'm hoping not to but fully expecting to see them face an EVEM BIGGAR superweapon for the grand finale.

That's one area where the prequels were better. There was plot recycling, but at least Lucas knew better than to make more than 2 Death Stars.
It might be realistic for them to keep building bigger and deadlier weapons, but it's not interesting.

I don't understand why these aren't real complaints. You don't run out of gas in space it's just bad science and a horrible problem to have for a plot device.

The opening battle with the turtle bombers and them getting slaughtered was also a complete waste of story. Have it a heated battle with Y-wings and B-wings trying to bomb the battleship. It was boring and pointless.

Snoke being a nobody and dying is okay but not if Kylo isn't a threat enough to fill in for a real villain. He was strong and ruthless but now dead. All that is left is Kylo who can't do anything except fall for Luke's crap at the end.

No real lightsaber duel. While Kylo/Rey vs guards was cool it had it's flaws. The Luke vs Kylo was weak. It started out interesting but still keeps the characters right where they were at the beginning. Kylo as an easy mark to pull a fast one on and Luke still seems weak and cowardly.
