Metric system and driving on the right side of the road are the two big ones I can think of. I'd also like to see language be less of a barrier, but that's a more difficult nut to crack. However, for language, I feel like time and technology will make language barrier pretty much disappear.

Metric sucks, not enough granularity on the thermostat. Literally nobody on earth can detect a difference between 14C and 15C, and if they needed to, decimals are a thing. However, for language, I feel like time and technology will make language barrier pretty much disappear. Metrics has its advantages in places with close proximity to one another, but in the US and Canada, customary is still quite common because there really isn't any advantage to converting to metrics. We should also update all languages to have distinct words for "make" and "do" to avoid confusion, except those languages have survived without an issue for hundreds, if not thousands of years. In regards to driving, again, it's mainly an insular thing. Keep in mind that the most populous nation in the world also drives on the right side. The way I see it, when in Rome, do as the Romans do. When in China, do as the Chinese do. No need to try to force millions, if not billions of people to change their entire way of thinking to suit the altruistic fantasies of only a few. --- I think for myself, just like some random guy on the internet I agree with 100%. ...
