WWE does this with their Pre-Order Bonus, it ends up being purchaseable after all the DLC is out. I don't think Smash would go this route but just know it isn't unheard of

I know they said there wouldn't be many new characters, but I don't think anyone is disappointed because of the amount of characters. It's more that they ended it on an echo fighter and Incineroar with Isabelle having been the latest character revealed before that.

If they ended with Ridley or Simon, that's be a lot cooler.

I suppose they did end on Piranha Plant, which for sure is a major wtf moment, but not something anyone asked for.

Smash already went that route with Mewtwo. Not ideal but I'm okay with it, it would just suck if it was literally only a preorder bonus.

but uh damn, yeah, overall a little disappointing Direct but honestly that online is looking really fucking good to me. again, assuming that you can easily find people with your preferred rules but considering how huge this game will be, I can't imagine that being a problem.

It is going to have 80 playable characters, over 100 stages, online modes, this spirit mode thing that seems never ending. Literally every character they have ever had on one of these games. I just feel like asking for more makes us feel greedy and unappreciative of all the work they have done.

Well, they made a fan service game. So they should be doing fan service, honestly.

Like, I get doing something fun. If this were a series that isn't literally just all about fanservice, I'd be about that. But when you have people clamoring for some of their characters to be in and you put in a Pirahna Plant of all things, it's kind of crappy.
