My McCaffrey matched his Connor and Brown thanks to that garbage time TD. And once my trade for Brandin Cooks goes through I can drop someone to pick up a kicker and I'll have a full team for bye week hell! And if Carson can't go, I'll just drop Allison and throw him in the IR slot to fill in my Flex. Really gonna need Michel to play though.

I am legit getting anxiety from deciding between DeSean Jackson or Leonard Fournette for my flex.

My other choices are benching Calvin Ridley (did that last week and regretted it) or Marlon Mack (but he absolutely shredded last week).

Maybe.

I just look at the number of people I would beat every week and get frustrated. And then I see people who beat me proceed to do much worse the following week and it's honesty maddening.

Yeah, Trubiskey spreads the ball around to everyone so there's never really a focal point for the Bears offense which limits Burton somewhat. And when you're usually banking on a TD for a TE to have a good game, Ebron seems like the safest bet outside of Kelce, Ertz, and maybe Kittle. Which as a Doyle owner is frustrating and they both received 3 targets today so I'm curious to see what the routes run looks like between the two.

Thank goodness that trade for Brandin Cooks went through. Literally my entire bench was on bye so after the trade, picking up the Chargers kicker and dropping Geronimo Allison, giving up on the potential to keep him (a player has to remain on your team the entire year if you want to keep him), and picking up Parker for my Flex, I only had just enough players for a full roster. Eked out a 4 point victory thanks to insane performances from Trubisky and Mcaffrey with Cooks and Washington Defense picking up the rest of my team.

One of my hockey leagues has no head to head matchups and the standings are solely based on points scored over the season. I'm starting to enjoy the idea of not dealing with week to week variance screwing me over.

That's how English fantasy football/soccer works

Typically that would work in my favor. I'm always in the top 2 for points scored by year end but I can't really complain here. I'll miss the playoffs in this league and that result sucks but even with that high score I'd only be like 7th or 8th for points scored on the year in a 12 man league. I've played 2-3 leagues every year for 5 seasons now and this will be the first time I've missed the playoffs.

I'm a favorite in my other money league though. Theres like me and 1 other team that are way better than the rest of the league

I'll agree with that. It's less fun on a weekly basis

One of my friends does a league where you play 2 matches a week. One against your normal opponent and one against the weekly average. I feel like that's a bit fairer so you can't get really screwed by scheduling

If I were to run that league I'd 100% use median instead of mean, so that one or two people running up a massive score doesn't inflate the average and cause more than half of the league to take that extra L

Like, to provide a slightly contrived example based on your results this week, SE. Let's assume we have a 10 man league with the following scores:
245
215
120
115
105
105
100
95
90
75

The average (mean) score here is 126.5

Imagine being the 120 point guy going up against either of the guys above him. You take a loss for the head to head, then you take a loss for the league average. Even though you would've beaten 7/9 of the other teams in the league this week.

I don't disagree. He possibly described it wrong or they may be restricted by the website settings. It's been quite some time since we spoke about it and the website they use isn't one of the mainstream ones so I can't remember the name to check

I like the idea of it though as it prevents people being really unlucky. We have had years where like the 2nd or 3rd highest score missed out on the playoffs because the schedule screwed them

Along the same lines, the first place guy in my league right now (who I crushed by 30+ this week and he's taking it badly because I responded to his trash talk) had a whole 750 points against entering this week. He's middle of the pack (5th/10) in points for.

Sadly I'll still be a game back of him after this ~_~

My opponent is holding Texans D/ST through their bye and didn't fill the spot in his starting lineup.

I'm winning by 0.9 with my OBJ vs his Kittle tonight.

When I said I was likely to lose, I didn't realize he had no defense to start. I mean, I guess he could drop Texans or JJ Watt to pick up the Giants D/ST, but that probably wouldn't be a great move for him.

Just kicking myself for trying to ride Fitzmagic another week. Over 400 passing yards and 0 TDs smh.

Do other people have divisional set-ups too? We have had some bad teams make the playoffs before because they win a bad division and wouldn't have made the playoffs otherwise

Especially bad in our playoffs as division winners get the higher seeds and the higher seed in the playoff gets bonus points in the playoffs. This was added after one year where I got dumped out in the first round on a tiebreaker as the 1 loss 1 seed to a lucky loser 9 seed (someone didn't pay dues). This year it's going to hurt me as I'll be the highest scoring team in the league but probably finish 2nd in my division so only get the 5 seed.

Edit: Checked, I had 1 loss that year not undefeated

Finally, that asshole in our league that didn't give a shit during the draft, let his stuff auto draft for the most part, and would keep telling us "Guys, I don't even care! I don't!" when we asked him about it, then noticed he had a chance of winning and started making trades and pick ups on the waiver, is out of first place into fourth.

So I'm up to 5-5 in one of my money leagues, with a solid chance of making the playoffs if I manage to win out and finish 8-5.

In my other money league, I'm 6-4, but in 7th place due to having a low points scored tiebreaker. The good thing about this league is that the commissioner is so bad that for some reason 8 teams make the playoffs, despite only being a 12 team league, essentially guaranteeing me a spot unless I implode and lose every remaining game.

Of course in my fun league I'm 7-3 and in first place with one of the best teams I've ever had.

Hey VI, can you just let me win this one? You could drop 2 games without it hurting you, and one of your other two remaining matches is a gimme. You don't need this. Just rest your starters for your playoff run. Besides, you probably want to draw me in round 1. I always lose round 1 of the playoffs. Never mind that you would be on bye that week.
