This poll really depends on how you define "naming after" a character. What if you pick a name that you like, and you are aware that it exists as a character, but that did not influence your decision on the name? You can't really intentionally avoid using character names. There are probably hundreds of thousands of characters and nearly every semi-common name has been used for a character at some point.

Most of which are real names (even if some are rare). Its been widely hinted to me that Roxas and Ramza arent happening, because they really arent names. But it has at least been discussed. While Hilda, Marle, Kris/Crystal, Cidney and Kairi have been discussed..... At the end of the day Ive made it very clear that unless she just decides she hates it once its born, a daughter would be named Zelda. (Cant really name them Kingdom, Fantasy, Final, or Hearts... so Zelda is about my only chance here to name one after a game itself)

Our son is named Vincent. After he was born, I told my wife why I was cool with the name. She thinks I'm a total dork, but the name was her suggestion, so who was I to change her mind. We both win.

Has to be one of those Im guessing. Since Im pretty sure I know the origin around (or they are just made up) of most of the other names.

Anyway, to answer the topic, I wouldn't be opposed to giving one of my kids a name from a video game, but I wouldn't want it to be the name they go by. They're already going to have a hard enough time being shackled to my last name (which many people find difficult to pronounce). No need to compound that.

Like I've always thought the names Ashelia and Presea were pretty names for a girl. I wouldn't go for anything crazier than that though.

If we did that (we probably wouldnt, she hates Cid Im assuming cause of Toy Story) he would of course just be Cid. Never actually go by Cidolphus. My brother in law is name Zachariah or Zacharias, (cant remember which right now). Hes been Zachary or Zack his whole life.

Yeah.... this isnt true.

The only times I EVER had Michael in my yearbook or school ledger (after third grade anyway) was my Senior pics, my graduation, and my Senior sports banquet. Every other time it was always Mike on everything.

Spoilers languages other than English exist and his name is based on one of them. It's also based on the Sun and not water (and Yuna's name is based on the moon, imagine that). It's just a coincidence that it looks like tide
