28 y/o Superstar Taylor Swift has FINALLY taken a political stand after years of not voicing who she voted for and rumours of her being a TRUMP SUPPORTER from alt-right groups who used her pictures in various memes to support their causes...and now she's finally ready to speak out.

Talor took to isntagram and said she plans to vote in the midterms and it's for the DEMOCRATS!!

She wrote "In the past i've been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past 2 years, i feel very differently about that now. I cannot vote for someoen who will not be willing to fight for dignity for ALL Americans, no matter their skin colour, gender or who they love. I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights i believe we all deserve in this country. I believe in the fight for LGBTQ rights, and that any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender is WRONG. i believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of colour is terrifying, sickening and prevalent"

The Pennsylvania native who has lived in Nashville, Tennessee said in her lengthy post BLASTING Marsha Blackburn, the Republican Congresswoman running against her democratic opponent.

She said Blackburn's voting record "appalls and terrifies" her and cites her as a member of a US House of Representative voting against equal pay for women and Reauthorization of Violence Against Women act and believes gay couples shouldn't have a right to marry.

She has endorsed Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for House of Representatives

She is now urging young people to vote and register in November and said "So many intelligent, thoughtful, self possessed people have turned 18 in the past 2 years and now have the right and privilege to make their vote count. But first you need to register, which is quick and easy to do. October 9th is the LAST DAY to register to vote in the state of TN. Go to vote.org and you can find all the info, Happy Voting!"

She just wrapped up her North American leg of her Reputation Tour in TExas and set to open the American Music Awards in LA before going Down Under to Australia, New Zealand and Japan

Her endorsement has received lots of buzz with Bredeson thanking her and Actress and Activist Alyssa Milano writing "Taylor Swift Speaks Out AGainst Anti-Gay Senate Candiate - Thank you"

But Conservative Whacko, Charlie Kirk BLASTED her stating "You have absolutely no idea what you are talkinga bout. Your caraeer never recovered since Kanye ended it" as thousands of other conservatives are now REVOKING their Taylor Swift endorsements and say they will support "Kanye"

Kanye, who infamously went on stage to take the mic away from Taylor and said she DIDN'T deserve the best video award and should have went to Beyonce and at that time blasted Conservatives as well and became a hitting point for the right who lifted Taylor as a symbol for the "alt-right" despite never revealing her political affiliation...

Now in an ironic twist, Kanye is a darling to the right wing and Taylor will now be seen as a hero for the left 10 years later..

Do you respect Taylor Swift more now?

Nah. Let people vote however they want. If they want to follow their idols, all the more power to them. Telling people how they should and shouldnt act is not helpful for society as a whole, no matter how controversial their views are. Just let it go on as it will and let Darwin do his thing.

People are free to state who they politically align with, I just feel it's irresponsible for people who know impressionable people follow them to make a big deal out of their views.

But I personally believe that even my logic has double standards, since no one (or at least I don't) usually bats an eye if someone famous talks about anti-bullying, anti-littering, etc. even though it's the same logic as someone stating something political.

I completely agree, it creates a sort of 'where is it appropriate and where isn't it, and why are certain things allowed but not others'.
So yeah, whilst I still personally think people shouldn't, I'm not promoting the idea they should somehow be prevented from it.

It's just another thing that could influence people. People will do whatever they want to do, including follow in the footsteps of their idols. If we infringe on this right, we're no better than those who infringe on people who never had any right to begin with.

If that's an example of one of your original thoughts, you're better just letting your celebrities do your thinking for you. As for memes, they're the only appropriate response for any number of ridiculous opinions.

And, in general, when it comes to posting "lol" vs a meme of somebody laughing, I ask you:

No, it's definitely breaking. Low-information voting is ever on the rise and the lines between celebrity and politician are becoming increasingly blurred (to the point where a Kanye presidence doesn't seem beyond the realm of possibility). It's simpler than that, you just need a populace not vulnerable to believing lies at face value. Democracy works as long as terrible people can't secure a position reliably, democracy is only functional as a corruption interceptor, it's terrible as an actual system for getting things done.

All of the above? I mean if it is an issue that you know heavily divides people then why take a stand on it? You are not changing the opinions of people who believe otherwise, and anybody who would follow you is easily manipulated. Do you really want to lead the Hitler youth even if you believe you are right?

Plus I am not saying their should be some law against it, just that all you are doing is creating a divide. The only way you are going to change people's opinions is to change their perceptions, not scream an opposing opinion in their face. That only justifies their beliefs.

It really says something about all these politicians that live in a bubble isolated from the struggles of living like an average Joe are almost universally Republicans.

It really does, ok?

Because the dem politicians dont live inside a wealthy privileged bubble?

Right.

Regardless of their views, my opinion is that people of influence who aren't politicians should stay out of politics.

Nah. Let people vote however they want. If they want to follow their idols, all the more power to them. Telling people how they should and shouldnt act is not helpful for society as a whole, no matter how controversial their views are. Just let it go on as it will and let Darwin do his thing.

You just contradicted yourself

Not a contradiction. Like Ive said again and again, people should be allowed to vote however they want. If they want to follow their idols and vote as they do, go for it. Thats their decision.
