of course the score will go down and maybe settle in the 70's...maybe..who knows..but it seems like audiences have liked this venom and disagreed with the critics.

they agreed that amazing spider man 2 sucked but seemed to have split on this movie. suicide squad was another one that split critics and viewers and does explain why venom is breaking pre-sale records on awareness...

Now its at 89 percent. I wouldnt expect it to swing much more but i coukd be wrong. I dont think you have to wait a week.

Really? Angry Joe has his review up already and when he looked the RT score was 29 or something. Guess it went up a bunch.

I find it interesting that superheros and action movies in general seems to be hit-or-miss with the critics. As much as I enjoy them, I feel these type of movies are overall "simple" in that you have the heroes, villains, maybe some plot twist, action, explosions, hanging from a helicopter, etc. etc. that one might expect from an action movie.

I'm not exactly expecting some serious character development nor very deep plot but sometimes it seems some critics and maybe even average movie watcher are expecting something meaningful from such genre.

Justice League, the latest Transformers, Emoji movie, Suicide Squad... etc

I enjoyed the movie and am glad I never listen to critic or audience reviews. I don't even look at them to even get the chance to not listen to them cause I like to decide for myself if a movie is good or not.

They aren't even close to a reasonable metric, even when you account for how critics and general audiences often look for different things.

You can't look at audience scores. Critic scores are what matter, it's literally their jobs to talk about movies. Audiences are so easily amused too, listen to the critics.

More and more audience members enjoy the idea of having strange alien creatures inside them. There was a poll (ok...it was done in Japan).

Personally I trust the audiences score more so than the critic especially if it is some action superhero movie. I'm not looking for some movie with a deep plot or a story that makes me question reality and whatnot. There are times I feel the critics ask for too much from a movie when that movie isn't meant to give those things. Kinda how I view Metacritic. I tend to trust the players more than the professional reviewers.

They sure do rate Fast and the Furious movies pretty highly lately, also the Mission Impossible series has gotten consistently high ratings since the 4th installment. People act like the only movies critics give good scores to are stuff like Moonlight or La La Land and that just is not true.

And Disney films because of Disneys longstanding agreement with critics. The critics give their films good reviews and in exchange Disney doesn't make bad movies.
