It was the generation that gave us Pineco, the definitive laziest Pokemon ever. They literally just took a pine cone, gave it eyes, and then cut off "ne" in "cone" for its name. Voltorb might just be a Pokeball, but at least it's something relevant to the games and they gave him an actual name. Plus Gen 2 had Hoppip and fuck that thing.
