You get a call from work, school etc, or if you don't work, just a call from a random dude.

You won the work (universe) lottery!! You get to pass go, for 2 weeks, and collect $5000!!!

What do you do in those 2 weeks?

There is one drawback, the $5000 goes away after the 2 weeks are up, and anything you bought with the money, is gone as well....so you gotta spend it all.

If you pay bills/credit cards etc....the money gets taken back and the bills are back after 2 weeks as well.

So yup, 2 weeks, 14 days, about $350 bucks a day.......whats your plan?

So if I bought a harem of hookers, would any STDs go back as well? >_>

Otherwise, idk, I've always wanted to visit Ireland, Japan, Egypt, Chy-nah, France, and Thailand (and, to a lesser extent, I wouldn't mind seeing Russia.... but these days that'd get you redflagged by the FBI, CIA, and even the DHS), so maybe one of those. At some point down the road, I kinda want to just vacation in one of those places for like a month because I've never been big on short trips.

Lol....nope sorry:) Material items primarily, with some exceptions (if you paid for a nose job for instance...that would go poof).

This is a cool way to see where people would go on vacation or just do for fun, if money wasn't a primary concern.

I think I'd hit Europe myself, or go on a really nice cruise with a friend or something. If you paid for a cruise that lasted more then 2 weeks though.....you would get kicked off after the second week!!

$5000 isn't alot for 2 weeks though if you include $1500 or so each way for air fair to Europe, you might actually have to spend more hten that, but it would cut back on the over all cost significantly.

As long as you use the money in the 2 weeks (hotels/plains etc), you are fine, if it's after the 2 weeks, the money goes away (as it has not been spent yet) and the hotels/plains etc will cancel the reservations etc.

The money stays as long as you don't own it, but if you give it to a friend to "hold onto" for you etc, then it still goes poof.

You can't bank any of it though, you might be able to rent a theme park for a few hours for that price and allow quite a few people to have full access (say $40 a pop, for 2 hours, you could probably get 100 people access unlimited access to the theme park for like the last 2 hours before closing or something.

Depends on the country. Some places are reasonably cheap and there are more affordable options for a lot of places. The only thing you can't get around is something like airfare.... unless you pretend to be a pilot and deadhead a flight, Catch Me if You Can-style.

This is a badly thought out premise. The money, and anything purchased with it is rescinded? Well, then you're going to be fucked and owe $5000 after two weeks no matter what you do, short of not spending it.

As long as it's no longer your money at the end (IE you have spent it on things, but do not own anything from spending the money), you are fine.

You don't suddenly owe for hotels you stayed in, meals you ate etc. You spent that money and so you are fine.

Any money left over you don't spend, and anything you currently own bought from that money etc, goes away after the 2 weeks basically.

Yeah, you could totally do it, after airfare you probably still have a good $2000 left, which is still over $100 a day (almost $150)....so you could pull it off for only $5000 if you wanted. I would probably want to spend a bit more and do it in style though. I mean, if your staying at decent hotels etc, that's most of it right there, add in food, and boom....no more money (although again, you could do it cheaper).

Gambling and winning money is getting something from spending the money (even if it's just more money), so it would go poof.

As far as food, you have eaten the food, and digested it all (excluding only the last day possibly, and even that has probably been digested at least), so you are fine. I would say any food you have bought that you don't actually ingest/drink by midnight of the 14th day, will also go poof though. If you have already consumed it though, you are fine.

Could have quite a blast there, eat at the best places, see tons of shows etc, just remember you can't actually walk away with any money (at least not if you spent any of the $5000 on gambling).

You could gamble your own money though if you wanted and keep any winnings, meanwhile spending the $5000 to live like a king while there:)

There are also legal prostitution places in Nevada where the girls are tested etc if your into that....but they can be quite expensive...which wouldn't matter much in this case:)

Even though i'm making up the rules, i'm not sure how that would work tbh, you may still have negative effects after the 2 weeks is up, just can't have ownership of anything (like a nose job etc), but you could keep STD's you got (since you didn't pay for them specifically), or damage to your brain etc.

Like I said, I wouldn't suggest testing it out....drugs are bad mmmmkaay?

I don't think 5000 would go as far as one would hope if you plan on crossing the pond just cause a third would be eaten up by airfare, but I might consider doing either a Greece/Italy trip or a Scotland, Ireland, UK trip. I'm Greek and Scottish, my gf is Irish and Italian so we want to see our homes.

What might be more fun though just because we could splurge more, is staying in the states. We live in Pittsburgh, and we have a goal to do all fifty states. We haven't done New England yet, so I might just rather buy several oil pens and snacks, and rent a car. Drive the northeast, check out things in each state and eat some local food. Do some hiking too. If we did that we could afford fancy hotels and nice dinners and weed and whatever else within reason. Europe things would be more financially tight.

Actually, if you give the money to someone else, you don't actually have anything to show for it, so they get to keep it:)

If you loan it to them though, actually that is a great loophole since the money would go poof, but they would still technically owe it to you (especially if they used it on buying something etc, in which case that item would go poof).

Might have a hard time collecting on it though....and I guess in theory if you did collect on it, the money/item you got...would go poof at that point.

Nope, learning stays with you:) Just material items pretty much, not knowledge, memories etc. Even a license in theory (although that is a material item), is just proof that you did something within the time range, so should be ok.

But I would likely supplement it with 2 weeks of my own annual leave and a few grand of my own money cos $5k and 14 days doesnt seem nearly enough to fully experience the breadth of the US for the first time especially if Im with someone else

So yeah I would add my own days and money to make it $10k, 4 weeks and explore the US

Considering I can't buy anything with it, I'd just make a youtube video of the $5000 pile of cash and light it on fire. Maybe set it up so that it's a fire that'll burn for 2 weeks straight and just plop the money in there in intervals. I'd have to make sure I burn at least $14 an hour every day. Or I could do just $5 per hour and then in the last hour dump the last 3k+ in the fire.
