Below are all of the current fighting game characters w/ a chance to make the character battle. I know this because these are the only fighting game characters listed as "auto fill-ins" by the GameFaqs system. (Possibly due to past appearances?)

What this means is that anybody else has almost no chance in hell of getting nominated, as all users would have to not only spell their name correctly, but also the game they are from correctly.

For example, say 100 people nominate Raiden from Mortal Kombat. But some people spell his name as Raiden, and others as Rayden. Or some people list the game he's from as Mortal Kombat, while others list it as Mortal Kombat X....basically the system tallies automatically, so it wont be able to group these together.

In order to get an obscure fighting game rep in this contest we all need to spell his name correctly, and the game name correctly. So I've created the above poll. Whomever wins, we collectively as a community agree to put that character in our nominations.

Its the only way!

I tried to only list characters that would actually perform well, and maybe make it past the first round (perhaps even the second) and unfortunately that left me with only 2 non SF/MK reps. I almost included Kitana and Geese Howard, but figured they wouldn't make it past Round 1...maybe Kitana.

I voted for Sakura because I already nominated her prior to seeing this topic. I also nominated Goro from Mortal Kombat. I think he might be worth seeing.

I think Raiden might have had a better chance before Mortal Kombat 9. These days, he's kind of hated on by a lot of the players, who consider him a meddling buffoon.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe Sakura, but I'd be skeptical.

Yeah, the auto-fills don't mean nothing, but they don't mean what is and isn't getting in.

Something interesting I noticed - the initial list includes almost every character that made the bracket in 2013, with a small handful of exceptions (stuff like Magikarp that was obviously added in well under the nomination threshold), but contains some characters who have never even touched a character battle or haven't been in in years, yet doesn't include every character that has ever made the field. Additionally, it doesn't look like it includes any characters that debuted after the last contest; those are all in the first update. Seems to me like the initial list was pulled directly from the 2013 nominations, which gives us a glimpse into some of the "close but no cigar" nominations from that year.
