Day 15: Social-networking; "wanna buy a 'dog?"; keep the puzzles comin'.
Time spent: Uh... 40 mins. I think?

*Ring...* "You see that structure over there? That's the Core. It transforms geothermical energy into magical electricity by... Not important. You can go from there to Asgore's castle in an elevator, and from there you can go home." Wait... What do you mean by "not important"? Do they use, like, human souls or something? I hope I'm wrong...

Anyway, I kept walking, calling Papyrus and Undyne on every screen, and I reached an elevator. I went "L1" and reached the part with the lab, no guards this time; I called my pals and they were commenting about anime -- Undyne likes it, Papyrus does not... even though he hasn't actually seen it. Anyway, I went "R2" after that. I encountered a monster called "Flamesman Heatman"... I think (darn it! He told me to remember his name, but I couldn't...). Okay, so there's Sans in one of his many work stations (somehow with snow on it) selling hot-dogs. I bought a 'dog, then I bought another one: a "hot-cat". I couldn't buy anymore, so he put it over me instead. "You're carrying too much. I'll put it on you instead. It's on the house... Well, not really, it's on you" lol. I walked around with a sausage on my head (have I mentioned how cute I find Frisk's front sprite to be? She looks too yellow, but other than that it's really pretty. Add a cute sausage on her head and she looks even cuter). Okay, so I made him put a lot of hot-dogs over me. Like, a lot. Thirty, to be exact. I tried to see if it could have a limit of some sort, and it did. I walked around with a huge pile of 'dogs on my head and threw away many of them. Then I repeated the process to see what Sans had to say again. Then I went on my way.

Alphys posted a picture of her "girlfriend": a cat figurine next to a bowl of instant noodles. I called Papyrus, but he wasn't Papyrus anymore; he was "SirSkeleton95" or something, and he had cool glasses on. Then he uploaded a photo of him on the social media, "flexing" im front of a mirror ("Ohhh... Now I understand why did Papyrus have a computer in which he followed some other monsters."). Well, I encountered a flaming enemy tied up in a rope, where I tried to cool him down, but nothing happened beyond its attack dropping; so I tried turning on the thermostat. It all got a little hotter and blurried. Long story short, I repeated the process like ten times until I died, but before I died, I tried to use a healing item to keep it going. The music stopped and I got a bunch of unreadable text that went on for like one whole minute. Maybe it was the heat, or maybe it was that I ate noodles on that moment, so I was tempted to kill myself and eat them in-battle, but I did not. After dying, I went back and tried to cool the guy down until something else happened, but it didn't. Eh, I spared him and went on my way (although his "rope" attacks were practically undodgeable!).

I saw that Napstablook sent me a friend request, which I of course accepted but "it appeared to have already rejected itself" (poor ghost...). I ate the noodles to make space for the stained apron, but the noodles were an instant healing item. I put it on, returned, and went left. Undyne said some disgusting things about pukes on the phone. I had to press 3 switches, one second at a time, but I purposefully walked faster to see what happened, although everything turned out to be the same. I continued, and Alphys decided not to help me anymore with the puzzles, telling me she had to go to the bathroom and that she would be "MIA" or something like that. "Well, I don't know what 'MIA' means, but that was def 'TMI'." [...]

[...] I stumbled upon a very difficult puzzle ("Oh, so now you stop the help from coming.") I was there for like at least 10 minutes, but fortunately I somehow solved it.

Day 16: Soldier bromance; even more puzzle guidance; exploding news.
Time spent: 45 mins.

Something I forgot to mention the other day was the fact that I had just realized that there was a recurring thing throughout the game: A mouse. Firstly, a plain cheese in the Toriel area; secondly, a frozen spaghetti; then a crystalized cheese and lastly a microwaved one. Who knows what kind of thing will keep the cheese safe next. "Where are all these tables coming from, anyway?" is a question that not only Undyne has, but also me.

I progressed and Alphys kept updating her status. Then I met the pair of guards that I, like, met way back in the entrance of Hotland. I noticed they referred to me as "they", so Toby Fox was really rooting for the "gender-neutral" thing. "Time to spare this pair as well!..." I entered battle and tried all of the possibilities, starting with whispering to them. It didn't work for 01, but it worked for 02. The armor-cleaning also didn't work with 01 but only with 02. They were pretty strong, so I had to eat a hot cat in the process. I managed to avoid their attacks pretty consistently when they fired the vertical ones, but the others were pretty brutal. Well, long story short, I managed to whisper back and forth with them, while also being able to get 02 to remove his armor out of hotness (I think?); then 01 had, like, something really important to say. He practically declared his love for 02, but it was kind of awkward (for everyone) still. I kept avoiding their attacks, noticing they weren't really aimed at me anymore. They finally went for ice-cream and I was left alone. I earned 100 gold.

Okay, so I proceeded and went into another dark room. "Oh boy, not again...". And there I was, being a participant of another one of the crazy robot's shows. I actually stopped and checked for every headline (footline...?) until it showed no more (Woshua caused a crime to not be resolved but it left the crime scene smelling great... lol). I inspected every tem twice (a glass, a book, a videogame, a present, a doggie and a basketball, respectively). I was trapped as well. I ultimately decided to go for the present, but I quickly found out every object was a bomb... including the doggie. Then I proceeded to go and defuse every bomb, but I just defused some of them purposefully to see what happened if the bomb actually exploded... But Alphys saved me. "Well, that was a Little disappointing and anticlimactic, but I shouldn't have expected better...".

Anyway, I continued, and I got into a puzzle with arrows, which was kind of fun. I solved the puzzles, shooting at the targets both north and south, and having fun with the arrows. I stumbled upon a Tsunderplane and a lava enemy, earning 100 gold while restoring my life... Only to realize I was pretty close to the sabe point. I passed the door and saved afterwards. I went "L3" and finally got near the core. "Asgore... Who would that be, and how good or bad could he be?..." I hope my human soul is enough (I'm sure it'll be, but I'm just being a little over-dramatic)...

I stumbled upon a spider yard sale. It didn't look so hot, and I couldn't afford anything, but it was nice at least.

Something I forgot to say last time was that I received a call from Alphys inviting me to watch Mew Mew 2 or something. Definitely not a reference to Pokemon, is it? She started telling me the spoilers, but I didn't want to llok at what she said, although at the same time I tried a Little and didn't get anything other tan someone having mind control over someone else. "Fun..."

I'll have to delay the write-up one more day, but it's all good. Thank you for your patience.

Day 17: Cobwebs. Teacups. Spiders. Dying. Struggling. Bargaining. Sparing.
Time spent: ~30 mins.

"The smell of cobwebs fills the air. You're filled with determination." "Oh, right, I was just leaving that friendly spider-lady's shop! Well, time to move on.

"Ring... ring... The signal is blocked by cobwebs" "Um... Okay..." *enters the next room; no music* "This just doesn't look friendly... It doesn't look friendly at all..."

I walked through the webs on the floor while hearing the laughing spiders mocking me, talking about a human with a striped shirt that hated spiders. She-- ah, I mean, they looked a lot like me. "So... this is kind of awkward..." I kept walking until I couldn't move forward anymore, trapped by all the webs. On the background there she was: "Oh, so you aren't gonna pay for my snacks". Naturally, I entered battle.

Lady, ehm, spider-bug... attacks you! Okay, so I "checked" her and noticed she had decimals on her stats. "That's new..." Also, I have to excuse myself if I'm invited to her parlor... (What's a parlor? Actually, what's a cobweb to begin with? Sorry, English skills failing me this time around.) I tried to escape from her first "attack": a purple cobweb to keep me trapped (I went to the top, then appeared on the bottom), and I turned purple. (I was actually wondering what other colors I would be acquiring on my journey. This comes off as no surprise, although it looks more pinkish to me than anything else. I'm still yet to turn yellow, but I can't imagine what kind of new and innovative mechanic I'd be getting next.) So now I had limited movement but in an ironically advantageous way. I could move fast upwards and downwards, but I still had to advance slowly left and right. Had it been all fast and practical movement in all directions and it could have turned even more epic.

Anyway, I continued, Struggling and Sparing, but avoiding the "Pay" option. The lady told me there was a person that told them about the striped-shirt human, and that he-- no, she... um... oh, "they" (darnit, Toby Fox) payed them a lot of money. She kept attacking me with very lethal spiders, which were quite hard to avoid at some points. I died a couple of times, and returned to the battlefield (spiders no longer said their dialogues). I kept fighting my way up, and-- oh, speaking about fighting my way up, she introduced me to her... "pet"... "PET". It looked like a giant muffin (how ironic) that liked to eat spiders; so much, that they kept running away from it (or should I say, "they"). Like, what the heck? Is this spider-bug-lady some kind of cold-blooded same-species feeder? Like, what kind of twisted monster does that? I kept climbing my way up, fearing the hungry muffin. It was epic... and scary. To top it all off (kind of literally), she poured a cup of spiders on me!! UGH!! If this was a real fight, I'd be scarred for life (I'm not exactly arachnophobic, bugs in general are disgusting to me. Although, my 5-year-old me or 10-year-old self would pass away, maybe).

So, as I said before, I died a couple of times, maybe 3 times. It was really difficult, but I managed to pull it off. The "NEXT" sign didn't really help me anticipate the attacks. It actually took me a while to notice that she was holding two teacups and two tea...pourers. At one time, I actually wanted to see what happened if I was bit by the monster, but it only dealt 2 damage (lol, that was anticlimactic). I was covered in purple at the beginning, trying to be more "realistic" by letting me go all the way down, but I spawned in the middle!! Well, finally I spared her once the confusion passed. [...]

I went to the next room and used my cellphone. I never actually realized that when you call the bros and Undyne, they only talk to each other or to you, and you only get to listen to them without saying a Word. Like, that's actually pretty hilarious. Anyway, some puns were made, including the shocking revelation that SPIDERS LOVE THE INTERNET, SINCE IT'S THE FREAKIN' WEB. How didn't I see that before?

I saw a poster of Mettaton. "Another Mettaton show?" "NO NO NO NO...!" *returns to the save-point*

I'll work on my write-up today. I just have 3 things to say:

1._I just realized why there were so many cameras in the woods. It was because of Alphys.

2._Going through the game's soundtrack on Spotify, only listening up to where I am right now, I noticed that there were an "Uwa!! So holiday!!" and an "Uwa!! So hot!!" songs. At first I thought it changed based on the part of the game you were currently on, since at first it was pretty simplistic, and I thought the "so hot" part made a reference to Hotland. But considering I'm only getting the falling leaves on the Settings menu, all of this leads me to believe the game actually knows in which season you're currently on. If this is true, I'm looking forward to December to get a "Sweep away a snow, sweep away a troubles!" kind of message. It would be awesome if that's the case.

3._Guys, I have officially downloaded the MP3 version of "Memory" (the song you get with the umbrella and the statue) and put it as my cellphone's morning alarm. I tried it once and my mom heard it and said: "Aww, that's so pretty! It has little bells!". It only lasts a little more than a minute, so it's pretty much perfect. I'm switching phones (I recently acquired a really good model) because my old phone is just too outdated, so I'm planning on using the alarm starting on January 1st (I like starting things anew).

Day 18: Romeo-ttaton and Frisket; saved by the cell phone; chit-chatting in the dumpster-store; come and dine before you say 'good bye'
Time spent: ~45 mins.

*calling Papyrus and Undyne* "Oh, they picked up! No more cobweb interference this time around." I don't actually remember their dialogues, but I think they were playing with puns again. I went back one more screen to see if they had anything else to say after all of this weird interference, but turns out I already read that disgusting vomit-implied joke before. Time to move on. Wait... did I actually called them in the spider-lady screen? I'm not sure, but I sure called them on the next screen. "Mettaton's show, the tragic story of two mates separated despite their destiny", or something like that. It was about to begin too. I walked right.

So there I was. Mettaton was talking to someone about a certain human over the phone. "Asgore?" He walked down the stairs (IIRC) with a friggin' dress. "Oh boy... What kind of wacky stuff are you gonna pull out this time?" Well, a really wacky thing for sure! He was singing to the music while moving around the stage. I was paying close attention to the words to see if the syllables matched the song, and they did! Pretty awesome job, Toby! I was also trying to get in the way of Mettaton's steps to see if I could be carried away by him, but no. At most, I could only get him to go right through me in one of his diagonal steps (and maybe in a horizontal one). I didn't get stuck, I could move freely, so kudos for that programming. I didn't want to go right so I could read the lyrics while they lasted (I thought I had to run away), but the road was pretty conveniently blocked left and right either way. I didn't want to go up the stairs or up the vine, but later on I found out I couldn't. And I say later on because somehow I walked right over the exact spot where I could fall by him pressing the switch (or is it not just one spot? Huh...).

Now you have to solve my maze! If you can't get to the other side in less tan 30 seconds, these flames will -make something bad to me-. Let me explain: Orange tiles [...], wait, didn't we pass this like a hundred screens ago? I won't waste your time by repeating it to you, you should know how this works already." "Darn it! I really wish I had said 'Yes' to Papyrus a hundred screens ago... Well, at least I can actually do the puzzle without having to use my own imagination." I also thought for a moment that he loved me... oh well. Screw you, robot. "Well, at least I know Alphys is gonna save me anyway...". And I wasn't wrong! I started doing the puzzle, but since I was using different earphones (the ones you put inside your ears) I wanted to make a pause since the noise was starting to hurt me a little, but I only had 30 seconds, so I-- "Time's up" "What? That didn't feel like 30 whole seconds... like, at all". I still wanted to finish this puzzle instead of waiting for Alphys to save me, but it wasn't really posible, since afterwards I looked at the rest of the way and how large it was... Or is it really possible? (Maybe through hacks? Since you actually have to walk up and down and not only right.) Anyway, the flames went closer and closer towards me, I couldn't move, Alphys came to the rescue... Eh, it was all so predictable. I entered battle with Mettaton yet again, his stats were the same, and everything looked just like last time, except Alphys intervened to make me yellow. "Yeah! I knew that color was going to come in sooner or later". Too bad it only lasted about 1 minute. I "acted", pressed on Yellow, and was instantly turned yellow. Then I shot one bullet at Mettaton. "Ah! I'm defeated! You were stronger than I thought you would... etc." *goes away* LOL [...]

[...] Alphys: "We did it again!" It made me choose between two options. Of course I answered with the nicest answer, 'All thanks to you!'! She blushed, then told me how much she didn't feel so good about her own self, until she met me and started interacting with me. It was nice. I like Alphys. She's awkward, but in a really lovable way. Anyway, I called Papyrus, and he started explaining the puzzle to me. "Yay... Thank you, Slowpoke!" I still wanted to call him and see what he had to say, but the interruptions in the calls made me jump to the conclusin that Fris-- er, Lily, didn't really want to listen to him. I went left and very briefly saw something hiding in the ground. "F-Flowey?!" I went right, then left again to see if it happened again. It didn't. I went right, up the stairs to the next screen, came back down, then left, and nothing! But I'm still almost sure it was Flowey; that, or it was only some previously unloaded textures. Eh, I went right by doing my usual thing: pressing up, down and right at the same time.

I went up and saw the guards not wanting to kill me, and the nice-cream dude as well. "Oh, hey, I can take advantage of the punch cards now!... I think", but no. He ran out of nice-cream, but gave me a nice smile as consolation. I went right and saw... Heatsman Flamesman. He asked me if I remembered him. "Uh..." I didn't know what to answer; on one hand, yes, I tried, but on the other, I wanted Lily to be nice. So I ultimately said 'Yes'. He was shocked. "I'll always remember that you remembered." "Haha, nice!". I went left and called my mates again, but I don't really remember what they said. I did notice this time around there were seats below the screen... although empty. Wait, were there any spectators to begin with? That's a pretty good question. I saved afterwards.

I didn't know if it was better to continue or just end the session there, but I still went ahead. "Go talk to Sans, read the letter, or enter the building... Hmm..." I ultimately talked to Sans, and made an exception of acceeding this time in hopes that I could talk to him again, just so I could explore a little more before. I read the letter and went up the alley-way. I encountered two nice monsters: a cat-like one and a... dinosaur-reptile one. I found the cat-like girl to be kind of cute. I actually thought for half a second that she could be a nice cat-waifu, then I immediately thought: "What am I thinking?" But seriously, her animations were gold, especially the one were she stares at you like she's surprised and puts her paw on her mouth. It reminds me of some cute pictures of some of my real-life friends. I first talked to them, found out that they loved Mettaton and that he was created by Alphys, her fellow partners, although it seemed as if Mettaton had a soul of its own and knew Alphys even before he was created. "Could that be Asgore in disguise?" But now I'm thinking it could actually be Flowey in disguise. "Could you please get Mettaton to autograph my butt?" "Daaaang, girl! You really are kind of daring!" I didn't expect that from Toby, but it was actually nice, I think. I bought 2 food tems from them, but then I wanted to buy another one and couldn't. Somehow I knew I was, sooner or later, going to need to save some extra cash-- er, gold, for future occasions. "A cowboy hat and a gun... Ballet shoes and Tutu... Frying pan and Apron... I see a trend here."

I exit (exited?) and left. "It's just a normal wall". Then I talked to Sans. "Here, I know a shortcut". *goes through the wall* lol. He talked to me about this woman and their jokes. It was nice. Sans swore her to protect me, which was extra nice. [...]

[...] You know, Sans is a pretty nice character. Not really CBX-worthy (yet), but he's cool. He said good-bye and left through the exact side that is pretty much a dead end inside the restaurant. I explored the restaurant and saw plants, a Wall full of Mettaton's reviews, and a fish that asked me to do a reservation. I exit(ed?) by pressing up, sown and right, and the screen started shaking (lol). I was at the inn, not so far from where I originally left it up. Actually, now that I think about it, the restaurant is just one screen away. I talked to the inn host, he said 'welcome' to me, and then said that this was an inn/apartment building. "Huh... I never actually thought about such a place before. That sounds like a pretty good idea for a real-life place!" I played with the fountain frames, trying to see where the water stopped being before or after me. I saved afterwards.

It is possible to do that puzzle legit... and you'll get a nice hint of what is actually going on in this area if you do.

One more day.
---

Day 19: A night at the hotel; he says he likes you, but... you're obviously too good for him; a failed attempt at advancing
Time spent: ~1 hour.

So I went to the left of Hotland to see if I had already called Paps and Dyne, and turns out I did. She said something about pulling the guts out of bread, so I was instantly disgusted by her unnecessary graphic descriptions.

Anyway, I returned to the hotel, where I talked to some of the people there, and avoided the elevator, since it apparently went directly to the Core. I stayed at the hotel and made a reservation, not before I saved 'cause it was pretty expensive (200 Gold). I stayed there nonetheless and had a funny experience: I was under the bed's sheets (no longer being molested by other monsters' snoring at least), and every time I moved I heard some club-like music, which was pretty funny and intriguing at the same time. I moved left and fell off, no longer being able to get back again ("Aww... too bad. That was actually fun!"). I inspected the objects in the room, which were pretty unique I'd say.

I got out and explored the hallway. I could no longer get back in, but I went to every door and knocked to see what I could do. Some of them asked me if I had their tea, of their -something else-, and I answered both 'Yes' and 'No' to them. Then I saw a por dude mopping his own goo, endlessly -- "He seems busy". I also barely saw something at the right, where I went ahead and inspected out of bounds. It was a sign, which invited me to visit the art lessons on the second floor, which was unreachable due to the elevator being out of service.

I kept calling Paps & Dyne every screen possible. I entered the shop, where I tried to talk to the attendant and couldn't: "What? You wanna talk? We can't talk to costumers before they buy something". "Huh..." So there I was, buying the cheapest food available (the four foods were being shown in the background). "What do monsters eat anyway? The same food humans eat? If that's the case, it would be weird since it's animals' meat they'd be using". I stopped thinking that when I saw names like "Glamburger". Speaking of which, I wanted to buy one, but didn't have enough cash to afford it; either way, I had already bought something and that was enough to be able to talk to him. Good, since his face expressions were kind of worrying me...
