I've got two episodes left of Gamers; despite everything that's going on, I could honestly see an Amano x Aguri ending. They don't have any conscious feelings, but they clearly have the strongest friendship of anyone in the group (Amano and Tasuku are bros but don't bother to talk about any misunderstandings they might have).

And damn; you gotta feel bad for Hoshinomori, falling in love at exactly the worst possible time.

Just finished everything con-related at the hotel. Being part of teardown we were there long after everyone else had left - actually it looked like I was the only one that wasn't already part of or familiar with the core group in charge of the convention, including the handful of volunteers remaining.

But we got everything done; took about five hours including trips to the storage place, then afterwards we got dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was great getting to know everyone, and I definitely intend to do it again next year. I had a blast and it was everything I wanted it to be. It wasn't glamorous work but I knew it wouldn't be; years of working in food service had taught me humility if nothing else. But I was doing important work to help people have fun with like minded people and meet their heroes.

This is my seventh. I did five for Wizard World Comic Con, and one for Tokyo in Tulsa. Wizard World is cool, but kind of impersonal, and this year was kind of lackluster. I did like Tokyo in Tulsa (and it's my favorite con in general), but my sister didn't like working it. And I often got hindered from working it again because I had to look after my niece who was also attending the con, and was underage until this year.

As far as the volunteer experience, this one blows them all out of the water. It's more organized, more personal, more friendly, and they make sure your every need is taken care of (in fact I got a big bag of snacks and stuff they were giving out on the last day, and I didn't even get that much compared to other people. Wizard World doesn't provide food at all.

Sony has forced retroactive censorship on an already released game.

There is nothing acceptable about any of this.

Ugh... but this is a heavy slip on their part and I hope the Chinese don't let this chance pass. These guys should really sue Sony for this to see if they change something for the better.

Finished up Kokkoku yesterday. Fairly interesting little anime about time stoppage.

Bit of a slow season for anime, I think. I've got Goblin Slayer, and I'll admit to watching the car crashes that are Conception and Senran Kagura (... games are so much better), but that's about it. Hearing a lot about Gridman, though. Like, seriously, that's the sleeper hit of the lot.

Finished up Evenicle. It had more game than ero. Hoping the sequel has a main quest that's about as long and there's more side stuff to do.

Evenicle was fun. There were some parts in it that really upset me. I'm mostly upset that you don't kill the main villain at the end.

Riche and Kathryn are my two favorites.

Guri is my favorite, but Kath is great too. Not a single one of the wives I dislike. What happens to Croix was about the only really upsetting thing. There's also cow girl, but I didn't have that much attachment to her. I was bummed you didn't get to marry Millet and the lack of bjs was a disappointment. The saints were top tier wife material too and there's 0 chance Silent would've turned you down. Overall a good game and I hope the sequel gets translated too and is even better.

I think the second one is gonna have a whole new cast, which I'm not sure about. The end of Evenicle gives the perfect lead in for a sequel.

Watched Goblin Slayer ep6. Also, decided I'm going to read the manga and just catch up there first. Might leave the second half of the anime for the end of the season. For some reason the anime skipped a plot line. Guessing they're just changing the order for now. Seems pretty important to skip, not like a couple of the smaller things they've skipped previously.

Watched both SAO and goblin slayer. SAO was decent exposition but nothing really happened this episode. It's nice to hear about how the first arc of SAO actually worked out behind the scenes (aka where the guy running it was and how it wasn't shut down earlier even if it makes no sense). It seems like the budget for whats happening and the plan overall from the "villain?" is a bit nonsense. Like, it'd never go down that way.

Goblin slayer was good. I feel the pacing was a bit poor in episodes 2-4 but the last 2 have done well with it IMO. I feel a little cheated though. In the first episode it seemed like goblins posed some level of threat to goblin slayer that he would need tactics. In this episode he is just gliding through them like they are nothing. I also continue to feel like the excuses for the army not intervening are increasingly bullshit. This is a major city security issue and safety issue that could very well cause the collapse of a major city and supposedly worked its way through all the city adventurers but nah, not high enough tier enemies, army/guard won't do shit.

Also confused as to why the sword maiden being some supreme demon king slaying hero doesn't just go slaughter the goblins herself but who knows, maybe her blindness? only happened after the fight and now she is powerless? Idk.

Isn't this based of the light novels and not the manga (although IIRC they are quite similar)? Perhaps there is more there?

Yeah, why didn't she at least go with them? She is gold level (higher then them all and I'm guessing just behind the highest...which is platinum?). Even blind she would have some serious prayers she could cast (and i'm guessing the blindness isn't new..and she fights quite well blind).

Also, miles of tunnels under a city, a huge one, and none of them are patrolled or guarded? That really makes no sense, at least guarding the few exits from the tunnels to the city would easily be possible (or just sealing them up even).

Didn't seem like GS was able to kill the goblins any easier, he still did his whole count thing, but now he has team mates (and when he did get in trouble they would shoot a goblin etc) so he kinda relied on them, had the cleric girls protection (or the arrows would have taken him out) etc. So...he isn't using tactics as much because he has others to rely on.

Also...yet again, they relied on another outside source (something beyond their own powers) to win the main fight. This seems to be an ongoing thing with the group, they keep running into things which would spell their doom and then only manage to survive based on a Croc or a scroll etc.

You can't have that be the case every time, and also, he used to do these things himself, for years, and still says he'd go by himself, yet the fights are way to hard even for the whole group without some form of outside help...so how did he survive before? It's not like he turned down any goblin quests, and I doubt they suddenly just got 10x harder!!

I didn't even realize there were lns for this lol. That could definitely be things are different from the manga.

Also, there's a reason why she doesn't go with them to slay the goblins and it should be explained during this arc.

^Dealing with the heyday of Nintendo's censorship debacle proved that censorship has almost always existed to some extent. But the company does seem to be doubling down on it, and almost exclusively for anime-style games.

I kinda wanna see this. It feels like it's not like the other video-game -> movie adaptations. I dunno how to describe it, but the way they setup and show the cities and how the pokemon are an actual real integral part of their universe and daily lives, makes it seem like they put a lot of effort into the movie.

BTVA only lists her as Aqua, but you're right: IMDB lists her as Thea in the DCAU, too. (That's a lot of acronyms.)

There is no reason to be so hype. It might ruin the show for you actually you should go into it as if it's any other anime. I think most of the hype comes from bizarre crap that happens in it and how many memeable it is.

Ugggghhhhh....

There were several artists doing that kind of stuff IIRC. One guy actually had some really interesting designs with full descriptions on how he pictured their biology and lifestyle. Another guy went out of his way to make them as creepy and ugly as possible.

I've been meaning to play valkyria Chronicles one on PC, bumps to hear that there's turn limits and unlimited enemies, one or the other sounds fine. I wonder if I can mod the game 2 fix this

I loved the first Valkyria Chronicles and heard that 4 was more like the first. Those do seem annoying.
