And Ben - I was making the gambit on you being Scum. If you were Scum, you would disagree with my plan as much as possible, as it would lose you the game.

If you were Town, you would say it's an ok plan, as long as everybody promises to lynch me no matter what I said the next day.

Part of that plan's purpose was just to read you. Zach threw his vote on me early, and the rest is history. But still.

That would have worked well if they knew things I've done as scum in the past. Actually I think you know me as scum the best from that Heroes VS villains game where I was The Patriots and put La-lu-li-le-lo in my sig just to brag. I was in the same boat. Completely overlooked him until the no kill. I probably spent the last 24 or so hours of that day being sure it was him.

Until the day started I thought one of my town reads of you three simply had to be wrong. And I'm super glad Tony being scum made me do a total 180 on there being a godfather for my last day because I was poisoning those waters for a while.

What Zam did was completely different because he put the wrong name of one of his reads.

I personally said a lot of harsh and probably demoralizing things to Chris via PM. Seriously I must be exhausting for him to put up with. I honestly don't know how he hasn't snapped at me yet.

It's not new, either. This basically happened last time I played in one of his games, too. In the last Chris game I played in, I literally closed my account without notifying anyone at all while still alive as town and just let them figure it out. Then I immediately felt bad and created this current account and rejoined the game after Chris couldn't find a replacement for 24 hours.

Basically I'm one of those who gets emotionally invested in a game, and when I drink I tend to get really absorbed in my phone and just dump out a bunch of feelings. No matter what the original cause of the feelings is, I vent through mafia whenever I happen to be in a game. Bitching about the game as an excuse to blow off steam for other things.

I'm ashamed of it and it has gotten measurably...well, not better really, but less frequent.

Chris never really talks to me about himself or tells me to shut the fuck up. What a great guy.

I always apologize but it's still cyclical and I feel remorseful every time.

And yes at the root of the problem is alcohol and I'm aware of that.

I'm not super vain but I would be genuinely surprised if I was not playing some part in him being fed up.

I feel marginally less bad having written this, knowing it probably won't really help.

That is your real scumtell though. You go from the mafia board to the real one too fast and your brain accidentally copies some misspelled crap from the mafia board. Death does the same thing.

This is 100% fabrication though. I hadn't looked at the scumboard at the time. I tend to have like 3-4 different tabs at minimum of the game, so sometimes I'll get a name wrong from that.

My biggest scumtell is honestly that I absolutely try to ignore my scummates as much as possible.

An excellent reason in support of why town shouldn't quit playing and actively troll the game when the cop claims a guilty on them

We didn't play perfectly that day but scare really let the idea of him being scum sink in too deep. He needed to show up with more than 2 hours left if he didn't want to get lynched. It didn't help that the final 2 hours was the only point in that game day I couldn't be around

But he did nudge me to reveal in the first place so ^5 scare

I knew Sheep was town, and I really did think I was framed because I was a good scan. It lined up with being busy IRL so there was no sense in just yelling at the game saying they were wrong

And... Scum can stall the game indefinitely, too. Town has no control, and after a no kill, there is no reason to no lynch unless you are stalling for more time to talk.

yeah but the game actually "progresses" at day time since thats the period to outwit your opponents. if everyone disagrees on a lynch the impetus rests on scum to progress the game. otherwise the game is a no contest, imo, as both sides do not wish to progress the game.

Hey guys.

This game was a good read; and after the first week or so of the game, I had enough time to follow along (though I had already replaced out).

Sorry if I put igcd in a tough spot by leaving, but yeah, 12 days of work in a row when I was supposed to have the weekend off (that day 1)... which ended up followed by being sick in bed for week with hand, foot, & mouth disease (throat spots) that I probably could have played mafia through, but I think my slot was dead by then anyway so...

Anyway, I have a three-day weekend, and I put up signups for the return of Weekend Mafia last week; if this didn't drain you guys... I've got some small setups for 5-10 players ready, and could use some more signups. This is not intended to step on the toes of whomever is hosting the next big game, just to supplement the time. The game is intended to start on 8/31.

Also I was kind of disappointed because Chris started the game without giving us a list of who was on our scumteam and Tony hadn't registered on the scumboard yet, so we had no idea who our 6th member was til the first morning after the game had already started.

So a few things about Chris. First off I mostly shut down around drunk people because my brother had a really bad problem with drinking for a few years now and he has just been sober for a few months now so when people rage at me drunk it brings me back to some really bad memories of my brother blaming me for our mother's death (Kidney disease by the way, so you figure that out) and calling the cops on me earlier this year in a deranged bender.

So often times on board 8 especially, because it is very easy to go to habits that have worked in the past, when I am upset I will turn to brash anger to get my way. The Wrath of Sir Chris is pretty well known to those who have crossed me but as I have gotten older I have tried to use less the fake anger to shield my emotions and to let myself feel.

So I met a woman online earlier this year named Victoria, and I totally fell in love with both her as well as her daughter, an intrepid Pokemon master who thinks the world of me and my grand adventures.

She loves hearing my stories and she actually laughs evilly when I talk about wrecking people in mafia, so I made this game with her in mind. Because we both love music and so she was really happy to read my flavor and all of the things I said - these are all songs we have listened to multiple times. But then my sister got sick and I had to tend to her and then I just wanted to play some WoW to take my mind off things so I slacked a lot flavor wise, for which I have my apology.

Puns you literally made me cry over the weekend when you said this game was miserable. There won't be any anger or rage, just the truth that I legitimately broke down because I put a lot of time and effort into this game and wanted to make people happy and it was just too much for me.

My life overall is fantastic, truthfully. I am in a good place, but part of that better place is understanding when I put myself in situations that aren't better for me.

The game was far from miserable. The only thing that was miserable in that moment was me.

also no one caught Zam giving up both me and Leo(Moreso me after leo flipped).

Someone tried calling each of us scum on day 1 and Zam responded by asking for "Proof?" randomly. The way he asked for it was strange as hell and I absolutely decided to dig through and post dumb meta from zam(Which was mostly real information I fed town, but I knew I had a limited lifespan so it'd get declared bullshit). Intentionally left a few things out like that just so town wouldn't pick up on them(I also hid something about Dumey if I recall, though I don't remember exactly waht).

If we were having an in person interaction I wouldn't get anywhere near as bad as that. I'm always really personable and go out of my way to make sure I'm not stepping on anyone's toes or being offensive or anything like that.

But for whatever reason when it's just a text box with a user name, I have zero filter and just have no regard for the other person's feelings at times. It's just about me and getting rid of whatever upsetting feeling I have in the moment.

This has certainly been a new level of actually being confronted with real repercussions. I've got to get a grip.
