What Draconian settings are you all using? "All Enemies Are Super Strong" is the only one that looks appealing to me for a first playthrough, and that's just because I've heard this one is easier than normal without it enabled.

-Stronger enemies
-Less exp
-Shyness

Figured it'd help me avoid overleveling when farming for gold or items.

Shyness just seemed interesting, though the mechanic on the overworld doesn't really seem to do much.

How many pumpkins have y'all destroyed? It's my guilty pleasure now to destroy every pumpkin I find.

Also trolling people by walking into their bundles of wood causing their chopped wood to scatter on the ground, sadly you can't do this to every bundle.

So I equipped the Healer and Supplicant accessories I received as bonuses for (I think) buying the digital version early, and I've also unlocked Heal and Flame Slash. I've completely broken the early game just by doing these things, lol.

I just got to the splash screen and have heal and flame slash.

Yes, very. And for those of you wondering about the PC version, it's an excellent port, from what I can tell so far. If you have a rig that meets the recommended requirements, then I strongly recommend that version.

What? The opening orchestral rendition of the DQ theme is beautiful.

hows normal difficulty if one doesnt grind? i started with the stronger enemies setting and a lot of deaths are just complete bullshit. thinking about turning it off. i'll get into a battle with 2-3 enemies and sometimes they just use aoe attacks or focus one character and i'm just totally fucked because they do more damage than i can heal unless im constantly healing with both my party members. most encounters are like this.

btw i'm level 8 and i just beat the two grim gryphons.

Hm idk. I'm playing with normal enemy difficulty but now I feel like I'm overleveled. I was level 11 for the Gryphons

I was level 9 with the Gryphons, playing with the Stronger Monsters setting
only had one BS death and I've had one one other where I got cocky, just right on the difficulty imo

does enabling stronger enemies grant you more exp and gold as well? or is it just for the challenge

I stopped last night at Gallopolis, about to start it up again. I'm loving this game a lot, really love Veronica and especially Erik, and I'm having a good time with starting on stronger monsters option. It feels like the perfect difficulty.

I'm having a hard time tuning out the music and letting go of my hangups over it. I normally adjust music volume UP in every game that'll let me... but for the first time ever, I had to turn it down for this game... and it still irritates me.

The game is so gorgeous though, and it feels like slipping under a nice cozy blanket.

the grim grypons beat me twice the same unlucky bullshit way

MC had had like 30 HP and i needed to heal

then grim gryphon cast whoosh
then the other one cast whoosh
then the other one got another turn for some reason and cast whoosh

my hero didnt survive

Absolutely loving the game so far. I recorded an hour of gameplay last night, but the encoding was messed up and I had to re-do it. Can't wait to play again later.

its a little weird that dying doesnt send you back to the last town with half your gold lost like in other DQ games

im also really liking auto run when you press the options button on the ps4 controller
i needed money for some new supplies so i decided to grind while reading a book and auto run plus auto fight means i have to pay less attention than ever when grinding

That is one mechanic I really hate, that choosing to reload from a manual save still takes half your gold. It's like..wtf kind of decision is that? Instead I start from an autosave (which doesn't penalize money) and go to the title screen and use my manual save from there. It's a huge pain in the ass.

i like that you can get back skill points just buy paying money and undoing your selections at save points
i mean the price will rack up eventually but it does give you more options so you arent stuck with the build you start with

if you put most of your skill points into whips for veronica but find a reall good magical staff you can just pay to undo your past selections and put points into staffs to make her good in those

i also think classic battle view is better than the new one
just makes the fights look more dynamic
but i do like moving characters around on their turns in the new battle view

Killed two metal Slimes in one battle
Went from level 12 to 14 in one go lol

Help anyone? I got a ring of awakening from a gold cactus. Then got killed in my next fight. I chose to load auto save which caused me to lose about 20 mins including the ring. If I had chosen a different option would it have done the typical dq halve my money instead? I wish I hadnt lost that ring.
