Inviso 08/06/18 4:30:17 PM #1:	The first elimination is not unexpected, since I would wager Penelo is one of the more forgotten, if not outright hated characters in the franchise, coming from an already-maligned game. Twenty-four remain though. Who will be eliminated next? Rules: - You personally (No bots/scripts/lending of accounts) can save 1 character per hour. - A character needs 1 vote to be saved. - 1 unique user needs to save a character for that character to be saved. - Ambiguous (i.e. "Cid" or "Cloud") or "If X, then Y" saves will not count. - Last character unsaved is eliminated. - No alts, no rallying, no post deletion/editing (unless correcting an update), no spoiler tags. - If you want to update, make sure it's accurate. - Only Inviso can start up new topics. - Community Rule is in effect. On paper, Hope is this whiny kid who's thrust into a situation who wasn't prepared for and behaves obnoxiously for most of the game. I mean, I hate Tidus, don't I? But what makes Hope WORK for me is that he's consistent in his characterization. We're introduced to him as this kid who gets caught in a Purge, and is rescued by miraculous intervention by Lightning, and soon after, his mother dies from getting involved with Snow and his freedom fighter nonsense. Naturally, he blames Snow, but he's still a kid. He can't really ACT on his feelings of pain and anger. So this builds up and builds up and builds up until he finally explodes and realizes that he can't blame Snow for something that really isn't his fault. I LIKE that story arc, and it definitely worked to help make Hope feel like a part of the story, rather than just a guy who was the absolute outer layer of the onion that is the PC connections of FF13. --- Touch fuzzy.
