My biggest fear is that game will say, "Choose your character's name"

That's a lot of pressure. I'll have to think about it for an hour.

I just want to know why a game that's been on consoles for four years already is getting a technically worse port and a full $60 price tag.

That's the Switch tax, baby! But it's also coming with all the expansions included.

Today's poll is a pretty good one. I'm like 99% certain I was playing stuff by age 5 but I don't know about before then. How would anyone even know if they played before age 3? I could ask my parents but I doubt they'd know the exact age.

I'm not even sure if it really counts as "playing" at that age anyway, more like just randomly pressing buttons with no idea what the hell is going on

When I was 4/5 my parents got me a NES at a garage sale with 30+ games. Years later, I sold it at one of our garage sales. It's one of the worst decisions I've ever made. that thing basically didn't work towards the end, but the cartridges might have had some value and it might have been able to be fixed

I think we had our NES since before I could even remember. When I was really young I also remember an even older console, something like an Atari or ColecoVision. Then apparently one day my parents sold it or got rid of it and I don't even know when or get any say in it.

It's too bad you didn't hold on to those. Nowadays the consoles are cheap and easily replaceable. The games themselves cost more than the actual console like half the time

I normally hate things like that, but the MN state fair is actually really fun. All kinds of cool shows/exhibits/shops and you walk around checking stuff out while eating food that will kill you.

Our first game console was a broken Odyssey 2 that my dad's friend gave him. My dad fixed it, so my parents kept telling us that we didn't need an Atari or a Nintendo when it came out, because we already had a video game system that worked.

We had one of those old ass things when I was little, it may have been a vectrex. But the first ones I have strong memory of were SNES and Genesis. Our first SNES broke down so the bulk of my early gaming days were spent on Genesis and PS1 (and Gameboy) but one random birthday we got a used SNES and that was pretty awesome

I forgot all about the Vectrex. I have talked about our afterschool program before when I was a kid (where we had roller skating in the gym and billards in one of the lunchrooms). We had a Vectrex and Atari 2600 that kids could play after school instead of the other activities.

Me too. I know we have county fairs where people get excited to see washed up acts like MC Hammer, but it's not for me.

The first game I played was some Big Bird game on the Atari when I was little. That's all I had. Then I saw my cousin playing Zelda on NES and he wouldn't let me play, but it made me realize there was more than Big Bird out there. After that, my mom got me all of the consoles because I grew up in a rough neighborhood and couldn't go outside much.

Jorge de la Rosa is unironically a Rockies great though... sadly.

I hope Jon Gray or Kyle Freeland (maybe even German Marquez?) turn out so we can stop having people laugh when we say our best pitcher in history is... Aaron Cook? Ubaldo? Jorge? Staff "ace" of the magical 2007 team, Jeff Francis?

Baseball Reference showed me that Ubaldo leads most stats for Rockies pitchers. Then it's de la Rosa and next might be Chacin. That's a pretty sad list.

Then again, the Rockies haven't been around as long as other teams. If we look at the Giants all-time best pitchers, it's going to include Christy Mathewson, Juan Marichal, and Gaylord Perry, all of which retired before the Rockies formed.

I know people don't really care about WAR for pitchers (or they didn't? maybe it's changed since then), but here is the Rockies' very sad career list. Jason Jennings is actually at 6. Look at how much Jon Gray is moving up! Crazy to think that with just two more seasons averaging 3.5 he'd already be at the top of that list (assuming he finishes this year at least at 11.2).

I see Gray also leads starters in FIP and xFIP

That's a pretty crazy list. There are some guys on there who are pretty good but only Ubaldo has ever sniffed the upper tier of MLB starters. Gray could get there someday but I understand the pessimism obviously

I'm more pessimistic that we'll lose Gray (either in free agency or a dumb trade) than him being a bad pitcher. The K rate is beyond anything the team has ever seen, so he might actually have a good chance of succeeding in Coors. Though that also might be a bit of a reflection of the higher strikeouts in general. If you sort K/9 on that list the top three starters are guys in the current rotation. IDK what is the league average nowadays?

I think I've said this before, but I wish they'd just kill MNF. It isn't what it used to be. Of course they'll never do that since they've only added an even more nonsensical football night in the time since it moved to ESPN.

Speaking of prime time games, it looks like the Broncos don't have any SNF games lined up. How the mighty have fallen. But I can't blame anybody for not wanting to see the modest upgrade of Case Keenum after we saw what two years of Siemian/Osweiler/Lynch looks like
