Most = at home.

Some movies deserved to be seen in theaters.

Movie theaters are to movies as vinyl is to music, imo. Sure its convenient, but the best way to enjoy it is still in the theater.

I'd view movies the exact same as I do now.

A movie I want to see: Theaters
A movie I don't care about seeing: Home

Most movies I'd prefer to see at home. Thrillers, horror, romcom and comedy.

But Fantasy and epic superhero movies deserve the theatre.

Comedies, dramas, and horror - home. no need for a large screen and surround sound.

Action, adventure, animation - theatre big adventure calls for a big screen.

If I care enough to see a movie when its new, I'm seeing it in theater. I mostly watch movies when I'm in the mood to watch one, which isn't very often these days.

I'd probably watch them at home and I'm a big going to the theater person. Sometimes it's just hard to make the time to go to a specific showtime.

I'd probably still wait for it to show up on NFI. Granted, I'd rather pay $10 or $15 for a physical (or digital) copy than seeing it in theaters.

I like going to drive-in movies, but I don't really have one close by.

I'm going to see Creed 2 in November at the theater. I'm curious about Venom also, but that one I can wait for.

I like theatres! Nothing beats watching a horror movie in the dark with the audio provided at theatres. Sometimes I like to see them several times before they're out of theatres and I can't get the experience anymore.

I'd wait for a $5-10 sale on the Blu-Ray or even a DVD copy or pick it up much later on from a thrift store for a few bucks. I'm not a huge fan of streaming. It's a nice extra option to have, but I will NOT pay $5-10 or more for JUST a digital movie. A game on the other hand I'll go to maybe $20 MAX for a digital version if it's a 'complete' edition that's unavailable in my region(Just Cause 3 Complete).

They have upgraded some of the theaters recently to be comfortable with chairs that recline etc, and no worries about people in front of you blocking etc.

That being said. Most of us have large 4k tvs with great sound systems at this point and get a better over all viewing experience at home now.

Add in the ability to have whatever food/snacks/drinks you want, to snuggle with dates (Alot more), and the ability to pause the movie, or even stop midway and come back later, and yeah....home is just better.

And if you cut out the middle man (the theaters), you could charge less to just stream the movies to everyone anyway. Maybe a bit more then a single person movie ticket, but considering so many people go early or on days with deals etc. You could probably charge something like $15 to see a movie at the same time as release, then drop it down to $7.99 3 months later.

They would probably make more money (the movie makers that is) over all. The theaters would mostly go out of buisiness though sadly.
