Board 8 > Is Danganronpa V3 worth playing?

I decided not to go for it after the anime one ended on a disappointing note, but then I've heard that V3 is the best in series. I like the designs for what it's worth, but I know nothing else about it

Going on a scale that goes across the whole fanbase and not just one fan here..

V3 is definitely mixed. While it's liked for the most part, the ending really divided the fanbase, at least online.

That said otherwise it's classic DanganRonpa 1/2 fare with some fun characters and interesting twists

Its definitley not like DanganRonpa 3 Anime in terms of how the story is executed

I think it is. It's definitely fun, but I think the first two games were better. There were a lot of things they did in V3 that I just plain hated, and that brought the entire experience down for me.

I think it's the best one and one of my favorite games ever, but it all comes down to whether you're one of the people who thinks it has the greatest ending ever or the worst.

Everything before that is classic DR, though.

Also a REALLY good experience to go into blind. If you don't know what happens then the first case is easily the best opener in the series.

I disagree there. If there's one thing all three DR games have done absolutely right, it's the opening case. I wouldn't say the first case is the best in any of their respective games, but all three are reeeeeally good.

I didn't really mean that as an insult to the others. 2-1 is better than all but 1 DR1 case.

I don't really have a ton of love for 1-1 though since the case is so upsettlingly easy to figure out, even though that's more if an issue in the english version.

Literally the point of the topic is asking what his expectations should be

I'm talking about telegraphing surprises, don't do that, you can stop at the game being great or bad or mixed

V3 is my favorite in the series.

y'all fine, 'polarizing ending' is ambiguous enough. probably won't even come to mind when i go through the trials and whatnot

why it would take 4gigs of ram i'm not really sure, must have really given the graphics some oomph

i'll reserve any other thoughts until i meet the cast, don't even know the names of most of these characters lol

"polarizing ending" is fine to spoil as long as you don't go into any specifics, "the first case is a big shocker guys!!" pretty much ruins that twist for him already since knowing something's coming makes it way easier to predict :/

Overall I'd rank V3 > 2 > 1 but I can understand a ranking of 2 > V3 > 1, since 2 generally has both higher highs and lower lows than V3
also having replayed DR1 recently after V3, the difference in overall polish/detail is really striking, makes 1 feel like a beta in comparison lol
