Despite Christmas NOT being under attack (given that its the biggest holiday in America and in fact, Christians are the only religion that have their religious holidays federally mandated as days off), Christians whining about Happy Holidays is a legitimate complaint. Lasa, you're kind of mixing people together. I certainly didn't vote for Trump to make liberals salty. I didn't even vote for Trump at all, but if I had, there would have been loads of reasons that would come before that one. I'm quite sure SephG had substantive reasons for his vote too.

2 major possibilities are divided between previously mentioned unexpected tariffs and apparently fears over upcoming elections in Italy, wherein the worst-case scenario is them exiting the EU.

And because the American populace at large seems to be okay with that shift in rhetoric there's really no way for those who disagree to argue back.

IIRC, Seph claimed he was undecided until days before the election when we "got shit" for telling some people (I think his co-workers) that he might vote for Trump, and that's what decided it for him.

Okay, I reread your post. I think the confusion stems from a misunderstanding of what This Is Why You Lost means, or how I use it at least.

TIWYL is about Democrats failing to try to win votes. It's about actions Democrats control that influence voters, not about why Trump voters believe they voted. It operates mostly on a subconscious level and it mostly is not about spite.

Example. You and I are having dinner. We are friends and you assume I must be a liberal since all your friends are liberals. So you start condemning another person who happens to be my friend, who you don't know I am friendly with, calling him bigoted. I don't think that person is bigoted at all. I, very naturally, feel threatened, because what I see is you understanding disagreement with you to be equivalent to bigotry. Months later, this will have a subconscious effect on how I vote.

I don't watch much TV at all. I liked the office when it was on. Last thing I really watched before that besides like fresh Prince of Bel air was maybe spin city. I really like Degrassi for awhile!

Obvs Degrassi isn't a sitcom tho.

Oh full house and step by step some. And home improvement if going way back in the day.

Oh and boy meets world.

I guess I watched more than I thought.

Always thought they should've prepared for the inevitable by doing this from the beginning. You gotta know Roseanne is a huge risk in the current climate they should've untied her identity to it. It's not like these nostalgia reboots/sequels need to keep the same name, look at Fuller House.

I wouldn't feel too bad, show cast have a pedigree, and even newcomers just gained a huge hit season to it. They shouldn't have a problem finding something that isn't tied to Roseanne.

Film crew would just move on to whatever show takes its place. It's not like ABC's leaving a hole in their programming.
