Anaheim are bad guys in a far worse sense than the ideological battles zeon and the feds warred over.

That involved racial purity, spacenoid rights etc, with nationalism being used as a tool to rally forces.

Anaheim aren't just going wheeee $$$, they actively need to perpetuate an endless conflict that wipes out billions to rake in on a more consistent basis. It shows by them almost always supplying a different faction each series.

The scariest part about them, is that unlike most anime organisations, you can't just kill one head and it cleans up the company. Their corporation is structured so that it can keep functioning no matter what. They are like Ford, Apple or Exxon Mobil on a way bigger scale. They are one of the most interesting UC groups and one of the reasons why UC lore trumps the other eras they have created.

I just think the middle length of it is a bit of a clusterfuck, the beginning and ESPECIALLY the end is fantastic.

Devilman itself was a good show, it had me more excited for what they could do with the rest of that universe.

I agree with Bane there on the high points being terrific stuff.

It's a really tense manga that involves a lot of cat and mouse scenarios. There's tons of planning and the stakes are always high with one wrong move leading to a likely death.

It also has good world building with many mysteries about how the world's situation came about and so far each truth revealed has been a solid pay off.

I dont have an issue with having Nyanko big talk. The show is just not funny and it currently doesnt have another draw. The only gag I like is the one where nyanko big attacks the friend and thats partly because his character is awful.

Haven't read any of it, but I think some people said it had somewhat slow pacing. It is pretty popular despite of that.

I do plan to buy some of the manga volumes the next time there's a Seven Seas sale at Right Stuf.

Man, even though I've always thought it's pretty shit I've still been watching Horse Girls because I love the concept so much, but it's just so boring. Everything about it is bad. The character designs are super boring (I can't really remember who anyone is), and nothing interesting ever happens, and the characters in general are bad. Gold Ship is about the only interesting thing in the show. Even the races suck. Like, what even are all of them? They talk about the importance of the triple crown races or whatever, but it seems like there are dozens of races, and for whatever reason lots of the best racers don't participate in most of them? The show should at least try to differentiate them. Ugh. And where are all the adult horse girls anyway? Only high schoolers are allowed to race? Are they just forced to have kids and sent to the glue factory once they turn 18?

It's mostly a sign that I shouldn't try to post thoughts when I'm dead tired! I really am struggling to think of anything meaningful to say about Parasyte though. Usually I mention any positive or negative aspects that really stuck out to me but it was just an all-around solid anime. None of the characters really resonated with me either, but I also didn't dislike any. I dunno.

It did bother me that the origin of the parasites was never made clear, and the environmentalist message got really heavy-handed near the end. Shinichi also became really powerful really fast and none of the fights after that were as interesting as the earlier ones. Those were only minor issues, though.

I haven't read or watched the anime in a while but I think I remember the anime making Tamiya Ryouko a more sympathetic character. I could be remembering wrong but she was really cold in the manga.

Shiinchi and Migi have a lot of plot armor so yea they kinda have to be OP.

We've got more volume of good shows this season, just not the huge mega hits like last. Though personally SG0 just autowins for the year, but I realize that doesn't really apply to everyone.

actually been watching some spring stuff

steins;gate 0 is interesting and seems like a great adaptation. don't have too much to say since I've played the VN.

megalo box is really good. love the style and art.

FMP S4 is good. I don't remember the series super well but this feels more serious than anything else. I like the direction it's going and it feels simple enough that I can follow it.

hinamatsuri is alright but not very funny having watched 2 episodes. I was hoping it would be a heartwarming style series but it's not that either. I'm putting this in the "maybe I'll try this again once it finishes" pile with tada-kun.

Is Danmachi the sort of show I can just watch on Crunchy or are the blurays the way to go? I dunno if it had anything that might have been aired censored. Im thinking of starting the anime up maybe this weekend

I was thinking more the action scenes since going by the mobile game anyways at least it looks like lots of monsters get slashed and burned to death and stuff >__>

I dont recall any of that being censored.

Usually that only gets censored if its being done to humans. No one really cares about monsters losing limbs.

Sounds like I'm the odd one out in this topic, but I'm really enjoying Tada-kun right now. Might even be ahead of Steins;Gate 0 at this point. They're comparable in quality at least, for sure.

It's also looking more and more like the show isn't primarily a comedy, which might or might not be a problem depending on your preferences.
