Apparently the Walker brothers and the CEO of Channel Awesome; Mike Michaud(SP?) did some nasty shit towards the other contributers and producers on the site.

I have been a fan of the Nostalgia Critic for a decade and this totally makes me feel sick to my stomach.
I'm now unsubbing Channel Awesome on YouTube. Those guys have made me laugh for years but this is just too much.
Screw those guys.

There is nothing sexy here.
The content creators was barely payed at all for their effort.
This Mike Michaud guy even refused to let them have a Patreon.
And the Walker brothers didn't even try to intervene and just let this all happen.

And lots and lots of mismanagement.

The content creators was barely payed at all for their effort.
This Mike Michaud guy even refused to let them have a Patreon.
And the Walker brothers didn't even try to intervene and just let this all happen.

And lots and lots of mismanagement.

A good friend told me about it, and I am disappointed that it happened, but I am not surprised. It feels like the entire creative industry is made up exclusively of shitbirds, these days. Unfortunate.

Then again, my favorite guy on that site (Benzei) left years ago, and even Google cannot seem to find any evidence of where he has gone.

I didn't know people watched anything on that channel besides NC. I knew they had other people, but I couldn't name a single one.

I've seen a few NC videos but that's it, he was never something I looked forward to or watched regularly.

Uh, it's true though. Read Kenneth Anger's book Hollywood Babylon. Some of the stuff is exaggerated but it's largely rooted in truth.

Nostalgia Critic made me laugh a few times 10 years ago when he was 'in a feud' with AVGN.

Then it wore old rather quick. I forgot he was still a thing for a few years.

He said when he rebooted the Nostalgia Critic that he would only make one episode of Nostalgia Critic every other week. That was actually one of the main requirements for why he agreed to reboot NC.

It didn't apparently matter much because now he makes a new episode every week like he did before.
He will probably going to be burnt out again eventually which could actually be good thing now.

But yeah, I'm not going to watch anything from him anymore. The new episodes he makes aren't really that funny anymore anyway.

Creators barely getting paid is hardly surprising. Stopping from getting a Patreon is just bullshit, though.

When AVGN and Screw Attack was on Gametrailers I sometimes watched Screw Attack's Game Vault episodes and Top 10s.
As soon as AVGN returned to YouTube I didn't even bother with Screw Attack anymore.

But yeah, AVGN was clearly the best part of Screw Attack back then.

I hate when he does movies that are currently in cinemas still but obviously can't use the footage so he and his team reenact it but it's not funny at all.

I haven't watched in... well I did watch the IT one. So probably since October or so? It wasn't that entertaining.

His IT review was pretty decent though. It is probably the best of all the clipless reviews(which isn't really saying much though).

Also I think it's good that more people talks about this controversy. These frauds needs to be put in place.

in the early days, yes, but after the split between craig and tom, everything went downhill pretty fast. I'm kind of surprised they still exist.

Eh, they kind of don't anymore. I think they're like GameTrailers, which is still around, but their site is gone and it's just a YouTube channel now. All I can find for ScrewAttack on the web is just a sub-site of Rooster Teeth. Aren't most of the people who were associated with its peak, including Craig, gone now anyway?

Well, now! That's a pleasant surprise. ... Can tell I haven't seen him in a while, though. He had short hair back when when he was doing his "Top Five" for Channel Awesome (... before it was Channel Awesome). Lucky for me, I can speak French, so this is actually helpful. Thank you!
