Robazoid 04/01/18 6:52:20 AM #169:	I finally started My Hero Academia, hoping to get through it before the new season starts. I'm not quite done the first season but it's good so far. I'm liking the characters and how they're using their unique powers in creative ways. I also appreciate how ~~Deku isn't completely useless even if he can't control his power yet. He held his own like a boss during that training exercise.~~ It has a lot of similarities to One Punch Man (which I also watched recently) with the different heroes and whatnot, but MHA is obviously a very different style. OPM being overpowered was fun but so far I'm enjoying how this anime is handling things a lot more. Mac Arrowny 04/02/18 2:39:10 PM #197:	Finished(?) reading the Prison School manga. Pretty good stuff! For the parts the anime covered, I honestly thought the anime did a better job in general? Stuff like the Chairman's way of speaking works way better in animated form, and the pacing of the anime was fantastic. Plus I still remember the anime quite well, which made some of the jokes less funny. Thankfully, I got really into the series with the following arc. There were tons of hilarious sequences there, most notably the flashbacks with Mari and her dad. Unfortunately, this arc introduces some elements that work well at first (at least until the next arc starts, I would say) but they go on far too long. Those three elements being Meiko's personality change, Andre's madness, and the PBR. They do some funny things with these at first, and even after they've been going on for a hundred chapters they're occasionally used humorously, but for the most part they get really old. I wouldn't say it ever gets bad, but it's certainly off from its highest points. The final arc is better since it's paced much better (lots of different things happen rather than the same thing being dragged out forever), and while the ending was a total troll, it also gets more hilarious the more I think about it. Like the whole series is a setup for that joke or something.
