I had absolutely no idea what to make of Moon Door 5 or why it was there (though it was cute, I guess) but Theresa being a dragon never crossed my mind

Like, I guess you could make the connection because Mary smelled a familiar scent that she couldn't place when she was with the dragon and smelled it again at the end at Theresa's birthday party, but that's about it.

also the Stone of Happiness is a crappy accessory

Trails 3: I don't think anyone really knows, but if anything makes sense I thought it was Polly(?) that was the dragon. (whichever kid was with Mary before the dream stuff started happening)

I also don't really remember this part that well at all.

Polly is the only other girl at the orphanage, so yeah.

I think she'd make more sense as the dragon than Theresa at any rate if the whole thing was real. They both have a very innocent mindset. At one point, when Mary is talking about the Happiness Stone, Polly says, "Happiness is all around us," and Mary says the scent is the smell of happiness, so maybe! I feel like we're overthinking this either way though!

Well, I don't think there was meant to be any sort of deep metaphorical meaning to that Moon Door! I think it was just supposed to be a cute story. Apparently, even those Trails forums think so...!

I think this may just be a screwup in the point totals in the guide though and I'm actually on track besides with Justice.

Didn't get to play a lot of Trails the 3rd tonight. Slowly working my way through the Impregnable Fortress. Already defeated Cid (called it! also I learned that Cid is his last name, not his first?!) and Amalthea. I found Richard's Star Door, too, while I was here. The conversation with the former Intelligence Division guy about why he won't go back to the military was pretty cool. Also hey, it's Mirano again! Trails knows a good faceless NPC when they see it, I guess. I saved at the monument inside the fortress, and I assume there's a boss on the other side, but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out.

Trails 3: wow guys way to dash my dream of being an ace detective

Richard's Door was one of the weaker ones IMO. Richard himself is fine but Amalthea has the power to drag down scenes she is in. I think the Cassius/Richard/Amalthea scene in SC Chapter 3's end might be the sole exception.

That wasn't a thought that crossed my mind actually!

But better integration of S-Links into the main story with consequences is the holy grail. Stuff like the optional S-Links in NG+ was silly though.

it's a great idea on paper but since everyone does S. Links at different paces and goes after some more than others, it'd be kinda difficult to implement effectively in reality, at least beyond what they already do with them

Yeah, it'd have to be optional scenes largely, but it can be done. Golden even made some steps in that direction! Fireworks scene, for example, albeit that wasn't an S-Link directly but the festival choice (which itself could be S-Link dependent).

Well yeah, but the games already do stuff like that. Like, if you want it to legitimately affect the game in a real way (which seems to be what that suggestion is implying), that's a lot more difficult.

Perhaps the only way you could do it is to make someone joining your party dependent on advancing their S. Link.

My first playthrough I only failed to max Hanged Man and Tower. I went through it fairly blind so there is plenty of wriggle room in P5.

(Also helps that Temperance and Fortune are game changers)

Golden probably had more, but then P5 Crimson probably will, too...! But you still have events tied to your S. Links, like the school trip and the school festival, and obviously Christmas and Valentine's Day, too.

The idea of being able to hang out with multiple S. Links on the same day is a really good one, although P5 did a good job of having your Confidants cross paths with each other when you choose to hang out. It'd just be better if you had more control over it.

Yeah those events are pretty good, but I don't think it'd be that hard to have the game check S-Link status and throw in/change some dialogue to acknowledge your status. And potentially have consequences based on that.

Like say take the P5 School Trip. Assume for the purpose of discussion that Makoto's romance can be attained by now. There'd be no need to "hide" the decision as is done now. So if the topic comes up with the gang talking about the trip later and Joker is also dating Ann, assuming he picked one the truth comes out and results in broken links. Whereas if it was say... Ann and Hifumi (again ignoring that I don't think Mementos is open far enough at this point) Joker can get away with it because without both of them there Joker could talk out of it. Maybe it comes crashing down later, idk.

It sounds complex but I feel like you could do this without too much additional work. Just a couple of flag checks.

See, I don't like this concept either. One of the things they talked about was having real consequences to dating multiple girls, which I think is a pretty bad idea. Or at least the idea of having unavoidable real consequences is bad because collecting a harem is one of the appeals of Persona, whether some people want to admit it or not. I think you'd get a lot of backlash if they just took the fun out of that. Now if you have potential crossroads where you could get busted if you make a wrong choice, then sure, that would add some tension, but it shouldn't be an inevitability.
