I enjoyed the first couple years because it was one of the few times I managed to be somewhat social in my life, and it could have been far worse

High school was just a placeholder, marking time before college. A few friends, but my interests were not in hs. Meh.

The first high school I went to, here in my hometown, was garbage. It was very geared towards university prep and magnet programs, but also had a pretty wide area that went to it, so if you weren't in one of those (which at the time, I wasn't), you weren't really prioritized.

The second one, which was in a smaller town, was a lot better. I participated in a lot of extracurricular things, even won a local award for my work on their theater productions. I sorta became a fixture there even though I was only there for a year and a half. It was the only time in school I was actually well-liked and known by people. I miss that school. I don't miss that town though.

Not until senior year. I forced myself to make the most if it because it was almost over then realized I totally missed out on enjoying the whole thing because of myself and could've liked it the whole time.

I skipped it sadly, and have kinda regretted it ever since.

If I could go back in time and make different decisions, but oh well.

I'm not a fan of college at this point, think it's general a waste of time/money......but.....It still could be a great experience. I focused on money only and not on enjoying life, socializing etc.

I was way too grown up, way too young. If your in your late teens and early 20's, you should experience life, travel, learn new things, meet new people. Don't focus only on saving money and building a career etc.

That may seem backward, but when your 40-50 or so, you'll have spent many years working at that stuff, you should enjoy the early years as much as possible I think.

Lots. I was the first person to vote. But didn't have time to type. At work. It was great, though. I was pretty popular. And nobody messed with me. And my friends were also awesome. We also skipped a lot. Like so much. It was a blast. I was scared that I might not have graduated. But it all worked out.

I didn't hate it, but I also hardly ever went. I dropped out when I was 17-ish rather than repeat the 10th grade, and my attendance the previous year was around 45%.

I was already running a business at that point, two if you count the shady things I was doing. I knew who my employer was going to be (me), and my employer (me) knew my qualifications. School at that point struck me as superfluous. Which is not to say I placed no value on the power of education in shaping a well rounded individual, but I was never exactly provincial in the first place.

I'm not sure if I disagree or if what I'm about to say next is in keeping with that statement. Building a career WAS my way of learning new things, meeting people, and having interesting experiences. So much so that I didn't think school was even necessary. But I wasn't exactly building a career as a plumber or white collar paper pusher. By 16 I was a reasonably skilled animator (something I'd been doing since I was 10), and by 17 I was already putting those skills to work in game development. I was working toward a future in production for film and/or television. That didn't pan out, but it wasn't an unreasonable goal either.

Nope. Since the 5th grade (maybe even sooner than that), I was a bonafide slacker. I didn't like classwork, I didn't like homework and I didn't like being lectured about subjects that didn't interest me. I also moved to a different state after my freshman year and that meant a whole different school full of people who already had their friends set from years prior so most of my classmates didn't really give me the time of day (not that my "winning" personality was doing me any favors). All I wanted to do in school was either break out my Nintendo DS (which didn't happen often for obvious reasons) or continue drawing "issues" of this super crude and offensive stick figure comic series I started with one of my friends back in middle school. Education could wait.

Yea, it was easy, I was lucky enough to be a part of the first year dual enrollment class to get my CNA license in my senior year, and I did really good in it. I also had a lot of friends and no one ever fucked with me or bullied me like in the slightest. I always thought that was odd too, because I'm pretty weird and nerdy and fit well into the bullied stereotype you see in TV and whatnot, but not once do I remember ever getting bullied in the slightest. Maybe cuz I'm slightly bigger than average and I look older, but IDK.

But yea, I miss high school, it was fun. I miss easy classes and seeing my friends every day.

School itself, no. I was undermotivated and basically never did homework because it wasn't really teaching anything relevant (I mean, seriously: When is the last time any of you diagrammed a sentence?) The people, yeah, some of them were pretty cool, and I met my best friend of over 25 years there.

I was a band geek and outsider, never really had any problems with other cliques, but you could not fucking PAY me enough to do 3-4 years of high school now with social media and bullying the way it is. It was bad enough in the early-to-mid 90's.

I liked the actual schooling part. The classes where talking wasn't allowed, and everyone was supposed to mind their own business and read, or do an assignment. It was the social part I hated, being partnered with someone, dealing with people in PE. All in all, I strongly disliked it.

Overall I'd say yes but that is probably more due to the friends I had/have and the people I hung around with. I took the various Honor and AP classes so it was refreshing to be in a class with people that wanted to be there and not be a disturbance. I took a regular Economics class in my senior year instead of AP Economics and dreaded it. I was practically the only one in a group of five that wanted to do the work and learn. Despite whatever encouragement I tried with my group members, they simply didn't care for the class.

It was also great to have teachers that enjoyed teaching. I was told my AP Biology teacher treated us well because she knew we wanted to be there whereas she was strict on her regular Biology class students.

Beyond this, it was great to see close friends everyday. We all did cross country and track-n-field together so would always hang out after school together for a little bit. Most of us were in orchestra as well. Overall it was enjoyable.

I'd say my highschool experience was pretty decent. Honors/AP classes, good friends/aquaintances, good teachers mostly. I guess mostly I just have regrets for not doing more afterschool activities, hanging out with classmates out of school, or getting a girl friend.
