Nixon was good. Only problem was he spied on Democrats. Bush was just a disaster in terms of policy all around.

If it wasn't for Watergate, Nixon would probably be regarded pretty highly. He was excellent at foreign policy and had a pretty good record with domestic policy as well.

Bush was the reason I stopped associating with the Republicans.

Nixon had left office before I was even born, so I can't objectively pass judgement on him. So by default I had to choose Bush.

i've read stories about nixon, that he was just always in a sour mood and just wasn't a great guy all aournd. So maybe in that department, just as an overrall human being bush jr has him beat by miles. Idk, bush jr seemed like kinda a nice guy.

Nixon was a pretty solid president. Yeah, he was a scumbag, but eh....

Bush couldn't have picked a worse time to be elected. He was incompetent enough on his own, but there was so much going on that was completely out of his control.

Nixon started the concept of deficit spending, as well as started the drug war based on pretty sketchy and racist reasons.

To be fair, both of them were mostly just dealing with the shitty situations handed to them by the Democrat Presidents who helped facilitate them in the first place.

Tough call, considering that Nixon's presidency ended with a string of resignations. Nixon was otherwise a more competent leader and had a far better grasp of foreign policy than GWB, if stories are to be believed.

Nixon would be considered pretty liberal for all he did.

Integration, SALT 1, Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty, ending of conscription, creation of the EPA and his enforcement of legislation such as the 1973 Endangered Species Act.

Just to name a few.
