I go on my off days right after I get up, like 7 in the morning. Low traffic on the streets, empty grocery store, and at 7ish they have just finished stocking everything. Round trip is about 15-20 minutes, no lines to wait in.

grocery shopping is a 5minute walk away. Also I can just go to the employee lounge and get last minute stuff

I don't mind going to basically any other store (well, except clothing stores) because you can usually find something fun, but grocery shopping is so boring and it sucks so much.
I probably wouldn't mind it if the check out lines were quicker.

C but i usually go in the morning before it's too busy and only takes me like a half hour unless i get stuck waiting in line for awhile. i try to get it so i get stuff to last like a month and then just every couple weeks grab like meat and bread and whatever else i need.

it's fine, i just wear headphones and use self checkout outside of popular times.

Though last week I had a confrontation with a trashy lady and her 3 kids. She parked her buggy/cart in the middle of the aisle where a second one couldn't fit through. I had to access some items right in front of her cart.

So, I politely said, "Pardon me, I am trying to reach those items."

She decided to respond to her children instead of me, "Oh, let's move all of our stuff so this girl can get her things since she's so important."

I said, "That was really weird to say, you're blocking the aisle and being rude."

She said, "You are rude to have me move."

I decided to stop responding to her because it was escalating so fast. So I stood there and took my sweet ass time getting those items.

It depends. If I'm at a foodmaxx (standard grocer) then I don't like it. But if I'm at grocery outlet (Ton of cheap shit) and I'm walkin around with my headphones on drowning in savings, I like it.

Both just take so damn long and when you work 9-5, those 6 hours from 5-11 are precious and I don't want to waste two of them shopping and cooking.

It is better when the store is empty though. High traffic grocery shopping is the WORST

Don't mind it at Publx, hate it at Aldi. Too many people in too small a space at Aldi. Half the time I gave to abandon my buggy for a minute or two to go get something.

yeah that is exactly the problem. only with my gf it is more like looking for deals (while I try to explain to her that you're not saving money if you're buying something you wouldn't buy or use otherwise especially since we still need to get this list of things we agreed on)

Not because I hate food shopping itself. I hate the checkout experience. Waiting 20 mins to get the hell out of there cause the people in front of me somehow become total dumbasses when they have to pay. They can't find their club cards, ask 5 times if they got a discount on a certain item, don't use the credit card machine properly, don't help bag their shit etc etc

though i tend to choose times when they're aren't as many people (mid afternoon, morning or late night). worst time happens to be around 5pm-8pm this has the highest crowd of people in the checkout line and to add getting across the street is near impossible (saves 10 minutes) from a shopping trip.

While not necessarily delivery, Walmart, Kroger, and I'm sure a few others have started grocery pickup programs where you make your order online and schedule a pickup time. I've only done it once with Walmart and it was p nice. Walmart has a $50 minimum with no extra charge. I think Kroger charges $5 but there's no real minimum
