Looks like North Korea will be going to the Winter Olympics and there will be a combined Korea women's hockey team.

Basically there will be 23 South Korean and 12 North Koreans. However, like all other teams only 22 will dress to play any one game, but at least three of them must be North Koreans.

As for the rest of the team the figure skating pair that previously qualified has been given a spot while other athletes will compete in alpine skiing (3), cross-country skiing (3) and short track speed skating (2).

Overall they got athletes in events I thought they would, but they definitely got more than I expected (should have been two alpine skiers, two cross-country skiers and one short track skater), plus I still oppose the women's hockey team.

These are the same people who 1). believe conscription was immoral, 2). believe draft dodgers in the 60s were, in a way, brave, and 3). fought to have said draft dodgers pardoned after the Vietnam War ended.

But I guess it's cool to mock people for getting themselves out of a war they found to be a travesty if they're Republicans? Certainly Jakyl would agree.

Assuming Trump really did "dodge" you can't assume he did so out of elitism. Maybe he was just, you know, scared--like most draft eligible men of that era.

Considering there was almost no scenario where he would have gotten deferred that wasn't 1000x more justified than bone spurs, my opinion would be exactly the same.

My dad had scoliosis of the spine and would have gotten sent over, too, had the war not ended by the time he would have been of age to be drafted.

Sephy is muddying the waters in general. He's making a play for sympathy because he knows that traditionally, it was liberals who opposed Vietnam and thus "dodged the draft" there. However, this completely ignores the fact that conservatives (including himself, who has stated in past topics that he refuses to consider social programs as more worthy of funding than our military because it's more important to him that America be able to intimidate the rest of the world with brute force than diplomacy) have traditionally been the ones fighting to GET us into wars in the first place.

Tammy Duckworth is calling Trump out because he, as President of the United States and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, doesn't give two shits about diplomacy and has no problem shitting all over the rest of the world and putting us at risk of war. He was too much of a spoiled little coward to fight in a war when HE was of age, yet now has no problem poking a bear and potentially starting a war that will send thousands of our troops (who can't get out of serving because of their rich daddy) to fight on his behalf.

If Donald felt war was so immoral when he would have been a pawn, it's very hard to tell now that he's a (4D.....) Chess player who campaigned on knowing more than the military generals. He immediately one-upped Ted Cruz's half-measure on waterboarding by saying waterboarding isn't torture and would do "a hell of a lot worse." He felt like you have to kill terrorists' families even if they're innocent, too.

The disrespect he gave the Khan family and John McCain doesn't help his case, either. Hell, McCain was captured in Vietnam and sacrificed his well-being for the lives of others in this war Donald skipped, and now Donald's turned his party against a hero because "I like people who weren't captured." If Donald felt like the draft was immoral, right on, but he's never said that and has instead tried to ruin the career of an actual hero from that era.

So moral, so brave. I see you pardoning Donald's behavior.
