Positive or negative, I'd be interested in any articles or links ya'll liked from the past year regarding Christianity and the Trump Administration.

It's been interesting to see how strongly Evangelicals broke for Donald in 2016 at the last minutes and to see him pander a lot to Evangelicals ever since...as well as the contrast with how Evangelicals have dropped their Trump-support more than any other key demographic of his since then. It makes sense -- and is probably best symbolized by tomorrow's Make America Hormy Again event Stormy's leading -- but still, anything thoughtful you liked would be appreciated.

The point of that is not to say that everyone is awful and should feel bad. The point is to say that your thoughts matter and that god doesn't just care about your actions, but your motives for your actions. It's why it's better to be a poor person who donates a cherished quarter than to be an impossibly wealthy person who donates 10,000 dollars that they don't even care about.

And that's actually most closely conveyed in an OLD testament verse to begin with:

"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he"
Proverbs 23:7

The thoughts you fill your mind with affect the words that you say and the actions you do.

But honestly Christianity is awesome. But the fact of the matter is that many Christians are not awesome, and you have hateful messages being spread by people who claim to be under the umbrella of Christianity. These hateful messages to not reflect the bible itself or the God that i serve, they reflect the prejudices of the humans saying them, as they twist the Word for their own purposes.

Its funny that like 24 hours ago this would have been like a nothing story to me but I read last night about how many southern states embraced Eugenics and forced sterilization as a method of controlling poverty for people who were too dependent on welfare. That program existed until 1977. It really struck me how horrifying these sentiments could be exactly because of how easily they could be implemented.

I would just like to say I am glad that those thoughts are so repulsive that this guy was immediately fired when they surfaced, but a little concerned how big of an audience there apparently was for them in the first place given he said them on a podcast in the public square.

This is the same guy thought that Japanese internment formed a solid legal basis for creating a national immigrant registry program for the purpose of rounding up illegals.

I don't really fall into the cult-like stuff that ANY of the big political ideologies seem to do. I'm also pretty self-serving in that I use the bits of PUA/redpill that work for me and distance myself from the rest.

I was militant atheist before anything else, so there was never any chance for the super christian guys in the redpill sphere to sway me. I guess I could maybe understand their point that a majority Christian society may be the best route to go, but I can't ever subscribe to it myself because there simply isn't a god. There is not. I know that there isn't and I couldn't even pretend if I wanted to at this point.

As far as anti-Semitism stuff goes, I do think there's merit to the fact that a lot of high ranking people world over are Jews and I give hard eye rolls at all the coverage Israel gets, but I don't think the correct response to that is ALL JEWS ARE BAD.
