Oh right, I guess I should mention that I've been listening to Tolkien's stuff on Audible. I finished up The Hobbit a week or so ago, and now I'm on Fellowship of the Ring. I haven't seen any of the new Hobbit movies, so I can't really compare it to those. I saw one of the really old cartoon versions of The Hobbit a long time ago, but I barely remember it. It was a pretty fun story. I don't think there was a single female character in the entire story though, as far as I remember.

Now I've seen The Lord of the Rings movies, so I have a comparison point there, although I'm not intimately familiar with it. The first half of Fellowship is just them getting out of the Shire and to Rivendell. This was my first experience with the character Tom Bombadil and not the user, so that was interesting.

I've still been listening to Agatha Christie books, too, but nobody here seemed to care about that, so whatever.

I'm not a huge fan of The Hobbit but it's alright. I love The Lord of the Rings though.

Alright, I watched the first regular-length episode of F/SN. Yeah, I'm really feeling it with this crew. They could all shift into terrible characters over time because anime likes to do that to me sometimes but at the outset I've got a real center to the story now which puts it above Fate/Zero by default. Watching Rin tell Kirei to shut up in the church beats my previous favorite moment which was listening to Rin tell Kirei to shut up over the phone. Also, Kirei's "Emiya...? Ha, ha..." is so good.

Saber's still great. I haven't been talking about her as much because she's surrounded by other people now who are also great. It's a good feeling, not needing to mention Saber as often.

i feel like i can continue saying Haruhi is my favorite anime pretty confidently. it's held that placing since i first watched it but lately there was some wondering because it had been so long since i watched it. resolved to rewatch it before the year's end a while back so glad i actually got to it.

gotta move Disappearance up a few spots in my movie rankings though.

Rin probably my least favourite F/SN heroine (close with one other), but I can't really argue based on just UBW since she's really the only one that gets focus. Also she's still relatively good herself admittedly.

Also tsunderes the best. Eri is probably my favourite to be honest.
