Loses whatever years it goes against Trails (So uh... 2011, 2015, and 2016). Hmm, Steins;Gate was 2014. ME2 in 2010. I might even be able to make cases for 2012 and 2013 but could be pushing.

Fate/Zero Spoilers (JEFF DO NOT READ, ONLY LEON): I heard that the LN explains this as Kiritsugu kind of masochistically "practicing" betraying Iri since winning the Holy Grail War will kill her since she's the vessel for the Grail. He gives her Avalon (and has Saber hang with her alot) for the entire series before endgame because Avalon's healing powers are OP and can try to mitigate the effects being the vessel can have as the war progresses but ultimately the Grail War will result in her death and he sees that as a betrayal (even though I'm 99% sure she knows that too). But yes, this is my most disliked aspect of Kiritsugu.

Honestly there's a reasonable dropoff after 3 and a large one after 4 though. Fate/Stay Night has a higher number of good characters imo. (Though in fairness it gets a lot more time to develop its characters so maybe that isn't a particularly substantial statement)

I don't save them either! I don't keep track of what games came out what year. I just went back through the GOTY polls here for those years, so there may have been some I missed!

I've never actually read the FSN VN but I was largely familiar with it before I watched Fate/Zero. I watched the UBW Anime after that.

For the record my line of reasoning is that (F/Z spoilers) starting with Fate/Stay makes it more clear that the story is portraying Kiritsugu as a tragic hero rather than a standard one.

I don't think it would have changed your opinion in particular, but I think in general it might for the average watcher.

What's wrong with moe anyway? Don't confuse it with ecchi. Moe is just about feeling good. An affection that makes you feel at peace. Moe is Squall showing Rinoa around Balamb garden, and watching her have a good time making Squall slowly break out of his shell.

So when people recommend cute girls doing cute things, it's not because boobs or fanservice. It's because the characters have such a good time that you feel life is worth living. At least this is how you can tell apart the good slice of life shows from the bad. In fact, cute girl shows having ecchi is usually frowned upon. Leave that for the doujins.

In Yu Yu Hakusho, the preliminaries begin, and thankfully, since there aren't a lot of episodes left, they mostly finish in one episode. The only exception was the fight between Yomi and his son. I figured they'd fight at some point when they were talking earlier in the episode about how his son didn't want him to hold back if they fought, but I didn't think it'd happen right away! Once that's all done, there are 128 left, so again, the fights should go by pretty quickly, so there's that. Yusuke says this isn't a fight to the death and he'd rather no one die during the tournament. That's the first sensible thing he's said in a while. He also wants this to be a regular tournament held every few years like an election or something, and for some reason, everyone's on board with it.

Also, it was good to see Botan again. My biggest complaint with this show is how unimportant she is in the grand scheme of things. I really wish she had done more. On the other hand, it wasn't good to see fox announcer girl again. I could've done without the color commentary. By the way, the highlight of this episode was absolutely Koenma's Tuxedo Mask cosplay.
