I liked V, but I'm also down for something that entirely ignores everything that happened in that game! Like, I'm just glad there's new Soul Calibur content coming out that isn't shit like Lost Swords.

Gonna buy probably close to Day 1. I'm really hype for this.

i've seen the picture that shows Mitsurugi pretty much having the same gear as SCI so guessing some sort of half-remake, alternate timeline shenanigans or set right after but before II.

expectations at 0 to be safe or until i see some more footage that makes me believe namco doesn't hate soulcalibur (they do)

first thoughts wish list:
no more reverse rage
GI back to not costing meter / or just bringing back JG. unsure actually
being able to block during backstep at some point
able to step more freely

don't care about roster. i like both gens and i'll find someone i like to play regardless. i would prefer the return of classic arcade mode with character endings as opposed to Story mode but whatever.

things i wish won't be in but are definitely going to be in so what's the point:
set roster from start, no DLC characters
no guest character

SCV was a lot like MvCI in a way; some of the best gameplay in the series undermined by questionable design decisions elsewhere, largely centering around the roster. You'd think it shouldn't be a huge deal but it was enough to leave a bad taste in the mouth for a lot of fans.

Still, this is a nice little early Christmas present.

how old was cassy in sc1? though i guess the entire origin story for her in sc2 is she got fed up with sophitia telling her to stay at home so she stole the sword and shield and ran away

i need raph and hilde in, at least. and tira has such a cool moveset, i'd be bummed if she wasn't in somehow, though i think she didn't even really exist until nightmare created (?) her in sc3.
