23 y/o Canadian Born Porn Star, August Ames was found dead in her home in California, 2 days after she was accused of HOMOPHOBIA because she refused to shoot a Sex Scene with a Gay man and then warned the NEXT girl who was taking on her role about her male co-star!!

Those close to her however said she took her own life after she was proned to depression where the recent incident triggered her suspected suicide.

She suffered a torrent of abuse after postign on twitter she was not doing a sex scene with a male performer who had previously done gay porn.

She wrote "To which lady performer is replacing me tomorrow for @EroticaXNews, you're shooting with a guy who has shot gay porn, just to let cha know. BS is all i can say. Da agents really not care about who they're representing? #LAdirect i do my homework for my body"

She claimed there was different medical testing between straight vs gay sex scenes and did not want to participate. She was then accused of hompohobia by social media

August says she is NOT homophobic and said "Most girls don't shoot with guys who have shot gay porn, for safety. That's just how it is with me. I'm not putting my body at risk, i don't know what they do in their private lives".

It is not known if the actor she was performing with was gay himself or a straight man who did gay porn

However, August had some people defending her who said that Gay Porn actors should NOT be able to do Porn movies with Straight actors because the possible spread of "STD's" and "STI's"

There was no indiciation of foul play as police didn't give specifics on the death.

Her husband, Kevin Moore said "She was the kindest person i ever knew and she meant the world to me. Please leave this as a private family matter in this difficult time"

There was an outpour of condolences in the industry from fellow producers, directors and porn stars who said she will be missed dearly.

She was born Mercedes Grabowski in Nova Scotia, Canada and found her way into adult porn in 2013 following a short stint as a bartender..

You'd think she'd know that every actor (in California) is checked out for STD's before they are hired and shoot. It was all over the news when the churches tried to push that stupid condom law.

And yet there was still an outbreak of HIV in the industry a few years back. I can't really blame them for wanting to minimize risks.

They could get tested for the shoot then go out later that day and get infected with HIV before even filming with the other actress. Its not like theyre tested immediately before filming and given the green light by some doctor.

So a woman demonstrating sexual agency is being harangued because the person she turned down was a gay man. Oh boy I can't wait to see the cognitive dissonance within some groups this will cause.

Yep. A lot of those people lead really destructive lives and obviously do a lot of crazy things between the thirty days in between their std checks.

At least once a year I see a story about how some porn actor was arrested for knowingly transmitting stds to private partners and actresses they were working with.

It's not just different testing between gay and straight porn. Everything requires different testing. I remember a pot start saying that you almost locked yourself into a certain type. There's differen testing between gay and straight, males and females, condoms and bareback, etc.. But, whatever.

There was a documentary either on VICE or netflix or something about it. Was interesting but the problem is they are tested but by the time they get the results the affected amount of people goes from 1-2 to like 10-20 or more.
