So I should wait to do the story missions until Santa Alter comes out since you get a ton of stockings from them right? Or do you need to do the missions to unlock Santa Alter anyway?

Just do the story missions now. You need to do them to get Santa, and the reason you get a ton of stockings is that they have single drops for like 50 stockings. Having more bonuses is less helpful with them than with the free quests.

I'll be amazed if I even really bother to use Caesar. He's just been sitting in my last slot without even making the field 99% of the time. He basically only sees action if enemies keep ganging up on characters. I'm going to try to fully Ascend and NP5 Santa Alter as soon as I get her. Probably don't have enough exp cards yet, but the lotto gives a ton. I maxed out Artoria, Cu, Medea and Emiya with them >_>

You could probably kill the Lancer/s with Jack. At the very least if one of them is Scat you can probably one-shot her with Jack's NP

I got my 2nd CE drop, so when I buy the last one from the shop I'll limit break it and give it to Santa Alter when I get her

Lv55/60 right now. Underestimated just how many exp Crystals I would need. Not sure if I should try the 50AP quest yet or wait until Santa Alter is fully Ascended

I used a normal team for 50 AP to get the lore. Might do most of my farming in 40 AP

If you dont have her third skill you 'may' have a hard time killing the Waver in the last part of the 50 AP, unless you bring a friend Santa that is strong enough

That 50AP doesn't seem possible for me if I keep the event CEs equipped. I had to use a Command Spell continue. I lost Martha and Robin to Altera. I destroyed the 2nd set with Kaleidoscope Darius and by the 3rd wave I just didn't have the NP charge or power to kill Gilgamesh before he could use his NP.

I'm definitely sticking to 40 AP for grinding

Oh yeah and it didn't help that Darius's Guts randomly vanished. Does it go away if you clear a wave or something? It was gone in like 2 turns somehow for me so when he died he didn't come back :(

the guts status only lasts for 5 turns

Man, did you do it with this order? I had Caesar up front and he died so early on. D:

Had to res my team in the last battle to win. I feel like I could do this but I'm not sure what the best order would be. I'm running Caesar, Robin Hood, double Santa Alter, Darius and Jing Ke. I guess Jing Ke isn't doing anything but I don't really have a better unit to switch her with besides David maybe, but he's lower level than she is.

You can switch Jing to Phantom for a couple extra cost if you like.

And the battles are very close. Bad luck can cost you.

I'm grinding 20AP now since I don't really need anything else from stars or magical stockings. Gotta get those Serpent Jewels before they're gone

Possible once I get my Santa to 80 I can sub out Kojirou for Jing Ke or something but yeah.

Course the run after I say that I had to Command Seal Darius for a clutch PERSIAN ARMY OUT OF NOWHERE to win

I guess if it's rare enough that I only have to use one Command Seal a day that'll be fine though. Especially since I've already appled this so many times that that's clearly kind of a rare event.

They're very very close but 50 AP has actual useful side drops a lot more often (since stars are worthless to me)

Though yeah I guess with that in mind maybe I should run 40 AP until Santa is Level 80, since I'm going to run out of use for bows and bells before the event ends I think, so might as well wait till I have a team that can do it the easiest way possible.

Although honestly it's only +1 and not +2, realistically, since I can't really run full event units on 40 AP either without it being way more of a headache than I want it to be. (but that will probably ALSO change with level 80 Santa)

Also maybe I made a blunder here but after running the numbers on what drops I seem to be getting every time, and what's on Cirnopedia, aren't the returns for the 40 AP vs 50 AP stage going to be, assuming 100% bonus drop rate, always going to be better on 50 AP, irrelevant to your bonus amount?

On 40 AP you seem to get 6, 6, 6, 7 stockings base from the 4 servants and 4 stockings base for each of 4 bonus drops, for a base stocking amount of 41 and a total of 8 drops. Then with 50 AP you seem to get 8, 8, 8, 8, 9 from the servants, and bonus stockings of 5 for each of 4 bonus drops. Meaning the total stockings on each stage would be:

41+8B vs 66+10B

Where B is your bonus. Then, by multiplying the 40AP missions rewards by 5/4 to equalize spent AP turns out to

51.25+10B vs 66+10B

Meaning you're going to get about 15 extra stockings per 50AP spent by running the 50AP stage, and the bonus you have is completely irrelevant for which one is better to run (assuming you have 100% bonus rate)? Or am I just making a dumb mistake with the math here and/or am I making a poor assumption on the stocking drops?

(But hey there's the formula if you want it-- 50AP seems better if you can manage with 1 Bonus difference or less, as each point of bonus gives a difference of 10 stockings per 50 AP spent and the base difference between the stages is ~15 stockings-- though really I would say it's probably not worth the additional effort of running the 50AP unless you can do em both with equal bonus. 5 stockings per 50AP is like nothing.)
