wish my mom would understand that think I started saying that around 16. so over a decade of sticking to my guns on that and she still brings it up. says I might change my mind. I doubt it after this long. I don't want to be raising kids when i'm old as fuck lol

My sister has already made two people, so my parents should be satisfied. They never really pushed the issue on either of us anyways. They were more concerned with us being financially stable first. In fact, they're kind of trying to convince her to dial it back now that she's wanting even more kids...

They do occasionally get on me about still being single, though. It's hilarious how excited they get when I happen to mention that I'm planning a date.

I never really heard it. I told my mom like 25 years ago that if she ever wanted grandkids, she was going to have to settle for the ones my brother had, because I was never having kids. Then when my brother actually had kids, I'd usually remind her of that. I'm basically the only one who ever brought it up, and she usually just sort of mumbled quietly to herself because she was fully aware even then that the surest way to guarantee that I will never, ever do anything is to try and pressure me into doing it.

I'm 40 now and still childless, so she's probably pretty-well resigned to the idea at this point. And she's got two grandkids so she doesn't need more anyway.

I have no idea what my father ever thought about the idea, but he's also dead now so he doesn't get to have opinions about it any more.

I can only remember my mom telling me the usual "You might change your mind" thing all my life. Including on my wedding day, which pissed me off. That decision was made when I was 11 and has remained exactly the same for 24 years.

Mostly no one in my family pressured me though. It was mostly nosy strangers who really shoved it down my throat. That's happened less and less as I approach the age of shouldn't have kids anyway.

My mom was always pushing for grand kids. Even as kids ourselves she was always talking about how she was looking forward to us having kids of our own. She really started about it when I was about 14, and my brother was 16/17.

Now she's stopped though. She tells everyone that my brother is the only hope for grandkids, and that she doesn't think I'm capable(I'm assuming she means capable of finding a partner). I always wanted kids myself too, so it really stings to have her lose hope in me.

I don't think my dad ever cared whatsoever.

True, I'd still rather find someone somewhat younger than me, so we'd have time to live a little, settle down, then get prepared for a family rather than being concerned that any potential babies might be unhealthy due to our ages.

Yeah, growing up I always wanted an older woman... then when I was about 20 I met one that was 26 who liked me a lot. She had serious baggage though, and I quickly learned I was going to get pulled into her drama with her ex, so I said cut him loose or stop pursuing me. She just cried and said she couldnt, so that was that. It sort of lost its lustre at that point...

There is a person for everybody though. Ive seen some gross looking people or ones terrible on the inside find somebody who loves them. Its just a matter of quantity sometimes...
