Jimmy G is lookin good for the 49ers and the Giants are locking up Ohtani and Stanton. I gotta say it was a good day.

I think Ohtani would be looking at the Mariners first and Giants second if he still wants to surround himself in Asian culture while in the US. Also with the Mariners having a large Japanese presence and that deal with Nintendo, I wonder if they're more recognizable in Japan and if that means anything to free agents.

Ichiro playing there undoubtedly helps as well. It's just literally impossible to know what it is that Ohtani is looking for besides his newly revealed west coast preference. For all we know his interest in Seattle could be purely geographic and totally unrelated to the Japanese culture there

I haven't seen much of Wentz besides part of the game tonight. Am I crazy, or does he have a really weird-ass throwing motion

It's a bit of a hybrid between sidearm and a traditional motion making it look goofy, but it isn't overly slow so it's not all that weird.

PNW is more rainy, there's more forests, things move slower. Everyone is smoking weed and relaxing, but it's also kind of depressing and lonely there. Seattle is a bit different so you won't get that vibe if you only visit there. It's the sister city to SF so they're both kind of the same but I don't know how to explain them. I think California people are more rude, though. They're more focused on completing their tasks and getting from point A to point B as fast as possible. But there's definitely more to do in and around the SF area, I think.

So as I suggested last night, his final list is Dodgers, Giants, Angels, Padres, Mariners, Rangers, and Cubs. I just know it's gonna be the stinkin Cubs. It's weird that there are more NL teams on the list though given his interest in designated hitting

I was gonna make a joke about him being completely turned off by Chicago winters, but then I looked up how often it snows in Sapporo and... geez, apparently it snows 68" on average in January alone. That might make Wentz flinch, even.

Anyways, the Rangers make even less sense than the Cubs.

A bunch of Mega Man news today:

- Mega Man 11
- Legacy collections coming to Switch
- Mega Man X collection

I can't decide if I want all or none of them. I love Mega Man when it's good, but it's such a hit or miss series. Like half the games in each collection probably suck, and MM11 looks kind of like a less amateur Mighty No. 9

I don't know which of those if any I would buy but I'm happy to see the series still exists.

I'm legit horrified by that Shazier injury because it's hard to convince me that I didn't watch a guy get paralyzed from the waist down...

Oh yeah, I even rewinded it and was like oh shit, hes really not moving his legs.

I was pretty sure Mixon was dead since they cut to the commercial so fast but at least he was walking around after the break.

That kind of injury scares the hell out of me. It was such a routine play, and was likely a cause of a simple mistake in how he was leading the tackle.

That looked like a textbook case for an ejection and Ive got no idea why they didnt remove him. Ive seen plenty of guys ejected for less.

More Mega Man news: I beat Mega Man X today. I always heard how it's so much better and more evolved than the main series, but it's practically the same thing with a different cast of characters. There are a few other differences, but they could easily have just been next-gen additions to the main series. Not that I'm complaining, since I like OG Mega Man. It was pretty good overall but the ridiculous end-game spikes in difficulty/cheapness kind of soured me on it.

Now maybe I'll finally play Super Metroid

Do people not know Shazier is a dirty player? Kinda comical to see the hypocrisy on social media with everyone praying he's alright and going "LOL karma" for Burfict.

The KHL pipeline was a decent threat to that, though. Sure, the league's quality has been overblown, but most KHLers are professional level. Russia was gonna put a team together led by guys like Datsyuk and Kovalchuk, both stars in their own rights.

Goodell is almost universally despised by fans, but I guess it doesn't matter to the owners unless those fans actually start voting with their dollars/viewership.

I'd have liked to see a new commish anyway, but you're right that they wouldn't make it much better. The core problems with the league run much deeper than that. I still have a passing interest in the NFL but chances are that nothing will get me back to my peak interest levels from a few years ago

I would have at least enjoyed the schadenfreude of Gooddell being humiliated and it sucks that an evil dullard like him could legitimately become a billionaire at this point
