Rotom being chattier didn't bother me...until I hit the point where he decides he needs to give "advice" non-stop. God that's obnoxious. I like how they give you touch screen controls for various Rotomdex features and then a little while later essentially take them away by having those controls be unusable 75% of the time because of his incessant yammering.

It started off promising...

Third island is the worst
The only new things are Sophocles trial and Totem, and the SOS Pokemon Totem Mimikyu summons. Everything else is exactly the same - Malie Garden, the Library, the area north of Malie, Po Town in it's entirely..god, what a disappointment
I guess the "follow the triangle, circle and square side quest in Malie Town is new too, but that's it

I'm enjoying this game but man Rotom is aggressively awful. Why even give us touch screen access to stuff if he's going to block it out with his incessant shit advice? Dude is insanely distracting because I've been playing video games for so long that the instinct to read the text that pops up is way too heavily ingrained in me to resist, and yet doing it in this game just gets you "Hey I'm going to talk to you even though you don't want me to lol guess what I heard there's a place in the game that does something!"

The worst party about the third island is

I'm putting this in spoiler tags but listen, if you're on the fence about getting this game you should know this about the garbage can area they showed in the trailer

The fucking "Kantonian Gym" it's like they made that place for the explicit purpose of showing a still in the trailer to hype people. It's basically just a room with garbage cans and three trainers. The gym leader has one pokemon, that isn't themed with the gym or trainers. It's like they couldn't have put less effort in if they tried.

Why Ultra Recon Squad Poipole has Nasty Plot, Toxic, Poison Jab and Fell Stinger? I mean, why the Nasty Plot?!?!!
He has no special attacking move!!
It can be a clever "Reckon Squad has no battle exprience" idea, but I doubt it. Most likely they screwed up

Why? right down to the Pokemon, right down to not really having a trial at all, but just 2 random encounters and a totem? yes, it does summon Noivern instead of Hakomo-O, but still

Just what is this Ultra Necrozma thing..I heard it's name before in discussion but didn't saw it's design..this is a nice design uh
And the hell is up with it's level, level 60? this is 10 higher than my highest leveled Pokemon..nice difficulty spike
But this is fine, I always wanted a "Boss Pokemon" in the games
Now I just gotta figure out how to grind for it

Also, they really made Alola have no light? this is pretty cool

It totally sucked when you couldn't use Cut on tall grass to avoid encounters anymore. Sometimes you just wanted to save on Repels, you know?

Yeah ok this is impossible..at least in the way I am playing (No Z Moves, no Pokemon Refresh, no EXP Share, no Rotom Boosts)
I did read some ways to cheese that fight but oh god cheating in a Pokemon game..this is pretty sad

I do have a way to do it that doesn't feel like "cheating" but it's still pretty lame
Time to level up my Alolan Dugtrio a little more, put him in leading role and use Sucker Punch
Revive him every time he dies..hopefully he will be able to 5HKO it? maybe? I don't know?

Im still Nuzlocking, and after experimenting around with it, the game is built for exp share.

Each route has 4 trainers, each with one pokemon. This is your only source of reliable exp. Not only do you need the exp share to make it last longer, because of the low amount of pokemon you fight, there will be pokemon in your party who will never get to battle because of type disadvantage.

Btw even with using all those things you listed, ive had around 10 deaths in this playthrough. So the difficulty is basically just right

Blame fans. People bitched so much about moves having any effect whatsoever on the field because it "wasted a spot" that Gamefreak basically just cut it all

Im being hyperbolic, there are some routes with six trainers, and some trainers with two pokemon.

To be fair, hasn't this been the norm for awhile, save for the occasional trainer having 5 Magikarp, or a bunch of bugs?
