Yes No She's Average View Results 29 y/o Shannon Ihrke, who looks old, said she was happy to be "one of the boys" when she was a United States Marine but says she quit the military because she wanted to be an INSTAGRAM MODEL and loves the attention she's getting by showing off her body for men's magazines!! The Minnesota native joined the marines at 19 and served a full active duty for 4 years experiencing highs and lows but after it was over and done, she quit the fatigues for bikinis and has racked up a huge following She was an admin specialist and said joining was the best decision of her life and made her feel "smarter, faster and stronger". She says "I pushed my body harder than i could have ever imagined and i learned to remain calm and collected in the mist of chaos. I became part of something special that was bigger than myself and i loved it. Some marines fight for our politicians but most, do not. We fight for our families, our friends and most of all, our brothers and sisters to the left and right of us in uniform. We are the President's Own and that's something that no one can ever take away from us" She rose to Sergeant in the marines but then studied for a BA in Science at Elmhurst College. But if it wasn't for the marines, she said she wouldn't have pushed her real goal in life...to be a sexy model. She said working in the military, females had to work twice has hard as the men in order to feel their equal. The men didn't think she could do it when they looked at her but she came up to the task and proved them wrong even when she wasn't as strong. She said being in the marines, they become a family as they eat together, workout together and hang together and fight together.. Now that she's a model, she works hard to get the best pictures out there as now it's given her a chance to feel "feminine and sexy" In the marines, she felt like she was "one of the guys" and did her best to blend in and did her best to not stand out..but now that she's a modle, some of those former colleagues of her WANT her after seeing her photos as they can't believe she's on the cover of Maxim now.
