Gotta say, a huge missed opportunity with not having the Crazy Cap shop people in Bowser's Kingdom be Koopas. Dunno why they just went with regular humans again.

It's a metaphor. As I was walking up to the shop, I was like "I wonder what kind of evil creatures run the shop in Bowser Kingdom?" And then I entered and learned that humans are the real monster.

Heh, you don't need the painting to grab this moon. I'm rather proud of that considering I just tried to go for it on a whim:



It sucks that I'm still missing three purple coins in that world though. It's way too damn wide open and I'm tired of looking.

Also, I have absolutely no patience for these minigames where you have to score 100 points for a moon. It's so boring, and I screw up on like point 70 or something.

Got to the jump rope minigame and after getting 300~ on my first try, decided to try and beat the highest score on my friend's list (594).

I ended up getting up to almost 1100 before deciding to ground pound and move on. LOL

554 Power Moons collected so far.
Still a long way to go for 100% but I'm loving it and hope it doesn't end anytime soon.

I think it is safe to say this is the best Super Mario game I've played and a Top 10 game (which is insane and honestly something I did not expect).

I thought the two Galaxies were 3D platforming perfection and they still are but Odyssey is both a 3D platforming perfection and a masterpiece of a collect-o-thon. It combines the best of both worlds and most of all it is insanely entertaining and a real joy whenever I turn on my Switch and hold the joycons in my hand.

The rate at which Nintendo is churning out amazing GOAT tier games is astounding. As of now I have very postive expectations from Xenoblade 2 something which I probably should be skeptical about after X.

You can cheese volleyball by turning on second player mode and just controlling Cappy. Makes it way easier.

Volleyball was the ****ing worst mini-game I've encountered so far. I didn't know the 2P trick at the time so I did it by Mario himself. I remember failing multiple times in 80s and once in 96 before getting the Moon. It was the worst.

At least Jump rope was like a lite version of FF9's so getting 100 was pretty easy.

Oh wow (post-game) the Mushroom Kingdom is just filled with SM64 fanservice, it's great. I can't believe I wasn't spoiled on the fact that you can buy a SM64 Mario outfit.

Post-game

Mushroom Kingdom is just fantastic throwbacks. Finding Yoshi, draining the moat, the tune that plays when you jumping into a painting, it's all great.

Finding the Super Mario Bros theater in New Donk City was also a blast. And the Mario Raceway theme playing in the RC racetrack!

Love this game.

volleyball you just stand in the middle of the court and throw your hat at the ball. it doesnt count as a miss until it hits the ground and sits there for like a second, it's really easy to keep throwing your hat at it and keep it up

That's pretty clever. My way was a bit simpler, I just started on the nearest rock pillar and used a wall jump to get the extra height.

689 Power Moons beated

Cap, Cascade, Sand, Lakeside, Wooded, Cloud and Lost kingdom all 100%-ed.

Metro Kingdom, my favorite world in the game had the most obnoxious Power Moon in RC Pro Champ. I don't think I've struggled with nearly any of the Power Moons I've gotten so far as much as this.

Yea I wouldn't say there's a kingdom I dislike at all. Luncheon kind of bumps up the difficulty a bit which is neat.

I don't like Seaside. If it had some more of the cliffside stuff, that'd be neat, but I really didn't enjoy exploring the water in that kingdom. Luncheon was OK, and there wasn't much to the Snow Kingdom, but I really enjoyed all the other ones.

I love Seaside. Possessing the Gushens is super fun, and the boss was my favorite boss in the game. It was cool how they took Super Mario Sunshine's mechanics and made them fun.

Yeah, I can see why Seaside isn't too great, but I personally really like it. I love the aesthetic, Gushen is arguably the best possession in the game, and it's wide and nice to explore without feeling like a shore like other wide water 3D Mario levels.

I can't really think of an outright bad kingdom. The worst is probably...Lake Kingdom? Dunno how to rank the kingdoms yet.

When I tried to think of a least favorite earlier, Lake and Seaside were the two that came to mind. I love the aesthetics but Lake is really small and Seaside can be annoying to explore. Still pretty good levels. Lost is probably down there too.

Seaside was awesome. The only problem was that it was a bit too open making hinting for stuff annoying, but the level itself was cool.
