At least League gives us the option to straight up buy everything except for the hextech craft stuff which is obviously meant to prey on the lootbox crowd. I'll probably never buy RP again if they put the next batch of Star Guardian skins behind lootboxes.

Devil May Cry - instead of getting a weapon or power after beating a boss, they'll drop a loot box where the rarity is the level equivalent. if you can find a legendary or epic weapon you get to unlock the true potential; if it's just a normal or uncommon you only get the basic skills and maybe a combo or two.

Dynasty Warriors - loot boxes unlock the warriors you can use. hey, you were okay with repetition before, just do it 20 more times until you get Lu Bu!
(Lu Bu on Red Hare comes separately)

Civilization - initially, you are the Aztecs. after winning a game, a random enemy team beaten becomes unlocked in a loot box. achievements continue to be as they are, meaning for specific civs.
