Agrias Oaks is Princess Ovelias bodyguard and the woman whos told the amazing phrase Blame yourself or God. Too bad the remake ruined all of the dialogue. Unlike Meliadoul, whos also a swordmaster waifu on this list, Agrias makes the good decision to join your party early on, which means theres a long window where shes not made into a huge joke by Cids mere presence.

Looks-wise, Agrias has the kind of blond hair I like, nice little braids, and two fringes to frame her face. All of that is great. More impressively, she actually dresses like a knight (or at least a Final Fantasy knight)! The only strike here is that no one in her world has a nose.

Personality-wise, shes duteous, honorable, just, and one of the like twelve people in Ivalice whos not evil. I hear the remake gives her more scenes, too, which is good. Once someone joins your party in FFT, they basically never get any more dialogue unless theyre Mustadio. I think Agrias gets one sentence.

PWC-wise, shes technically an adventurer, but not professionally. Shes just the bodyguard to a princess, and I didnt get the impression that Ovelia travels a lot on purpose. I imagine most of Agrias time is going to be spent in big cities with her charge, which is fine. Actually, I guess shell have a lot of free time since Ovelia is murdered in the end.

Overall, Agrias is probably not the perfect waifu, both because youll always be number 2 and because she cant detect natural gas leaks in the house, but I can imagine her being an extremely good waifu in addition to her actual skill at bodyguarding.

You know perfectly well who Princess Zelda is. Nameless made the wise choice to nominate one of the two versions of her with a lot of dialogue that shows off her personality, and spoilers, I hate Skyward Sword. Seriously though, play BotW if you havent, its amazing. Its unbelievable how much it does right after SS did everything wrong.

Looks-wise, Zelda has never been amazing. Shes pretty, sure, but no version of Zelda is knock-your-socks-off gorgeous, and that includes this one. I will say that Im both pleased and surprised that Nintendo gave her almost practical traveling clothing instead of having her run around the fields and woods in her pink dress or something. If theres a problem with her looks, its only that she apparently lost her eyebrows in a terrible accident and now has to sharpie fake eyebrows in the middle of her forehead.

Personality-wise, though, this version of Zelda is really good. Shes smart, scientific, hardworking, perpetually annoyed at her father (I can relate!), and rarely unreasonable. Shes pretty much perfect in this regard. You can tell that someone in Nintendo really put a lot of effort into crafting a girl the players would really empathize with since, lets face it, you can empathize with Link the same way you empathize with your chair.

PWC-wise, well, shes a princess and a scientist. My impression was that shed be off doing science stuff in the fields but for her father stopping her, but ehh, whatever. Still a very high PWC for her.

Overall, Id say that Nintendo has really upped its waifu game in the last few years. The reason for this has to be FEA. The game that saved Fire Emblem also kind of ruined Fire Emblem if you have a problem with purple-haired sister figures with giant boobs, evil sorceresses with giant boobs, and ten year-old dragon girls who constantly mention how theyre secretly a thousand years old so its totally not pedophilia (thanks, Japan).

The most hilarious thing about Nowi is how the game goes to great lengths to tell you that she's an adult, then you can just marry her daughter who's actually the age she looks. I still can't believe Nintendo allowed that.

She has at least three sentences. At Golgorand Execution Site, if you leave Gafgarion alive long enough for him to mention Ramza is a Beoulve Agrias will ask Ramza if that's really true, and then say that she trusts him anyway.

She also gets two optional scenes in War of the Lions. If you go to a trade city on her birthday during Chapter 4 with her, Lavian, Alicia, and Mustadio all in your party you get a short scene where Mustadio buys her some fancy lipstick for her birthday present. Said lipstick happens to be one of the best accessories in the game.

The other scene happens right before the endgame. If you visit Zeltennia Castle right before the final series of battles she talks to Ovelia and basically tells her not to trust Delita... plus she gives the princess the dagger she uses in the post-credits cutscene to stab King Delita.

Fio is the daughter of a wealthy military family, because nothing says massively wealthy like general (and yes, Im aware that generals are well-pair, but theyre not like crazy rich), that traditionally sends the oldest son into service. But the patriarch only had a daughter, so Fio got sent instead. She handles the standard cute girl with an oversized gun trope for the series.

Looks-wise, Fio varies wildly with her art. Shes one of the least consistently portrayed waifus on this list, with her hair color, eye size, and facial structure all up for change. Only her general style of dress and ponytail are consistent. That said, I have a policy to use only the hottest picture, and Fio was lucky in that the particular one I found was quite a bit hotter than the others. Its also one of the least anime-y, if you can believe that. I like the messy red hair, I like the glasses (few waifus on the list have glasses, but I do like girls in glasses), I like the military attire, and this picture even has more subdued giant anime eyes going on than the rest. And shewait, the Wiki says she weighs 94 pounds? Goddamn, Japan, you need to learn how weight works.

Personality-wise, shes exuberant, girly, meek-ish, and slightly nave. All of that is fine by me.

PWC-wise, shes from a super wealthy family and does have a job. I mean, I guess shes an adventurer who constantly risks her life fighting terrorists or aliens or monsters or whatever (Ive never played Metal Slug), but she seems good at it, and we live in the real universe where plane rides arent that expensive.

Overall, Fio seems like an A+ waifu if you can get over her apparently weighing about as much as a thirteen year-old.

Mitsuru is the president of the Student Council at her high school, which I assume in Japan is a more prestigious position than it is in America, and the daughter of the guy who owns the company that built the school, so she order around teachers. Yeah, thats how that works.

Looks-wise, brief aside here, Ive seen this picture of her with the rapier a million times on the internet and didnt know it was Persona-related. Anyway, I like the flowing thick red hair, I like the hair cropped over one eye thing, I like how shes clearly very precise and calm and elegant, Im into this.

Personality-wise, shes intelligent, confident, kind, elegant, and calm, but also slightly arrogant, and theres some indication that her personality is a construct she made to be the leader of SEES, an afterschool club dedicated to fighting the supernatural, because thats all the rage in our post-Ghostbusters world.

PWC-wise, she has difficulty trusting people, but since shell be my waifu I assume that makes me immune to that. Shes apparently easy to make flustered by fast food according to TVTropes, which Im sure Leonhart will tell me is just one scene taken out of context. Seriously, though, one of the bad things about her is that shes got an arranged marriage, which again I assume Im immune to and so makes it easy to place her highly here.

Overall, Mitsuru looks like a great waifu if youre into the whole super rich beautiful girl thing, which I mean, who isnt?

Mitsuru so good.

Shes one of the few JRPG characters who really feels like a leader instead of just being called that. Her stoicism and resolve in the face of danger and personal tragedy are absolutely badass. Plus the endearing moments like the fast food thing. She feels like a genuine person.

Im not doing her justice, but shes so good. Shouldve at least made top 10! :P

Zatanna is a character who exists for one reason. In the Golden Age of comics, there was a C-list superhero named Zatara, who was a male stage magician who also had real magic. In the Silver Age, someone asked Yeah, but what if it was a hot chick? And thus he had a daughter all along.

Zatanna has almost the opposite problem that a lot of previous waifus have. A lot of them are relatively meh on looks except that they have one really good picture. With Zatanna, literally every picture is smoking hot. She is incapable of looking bad. I know of no other superheroine who always looks at the top of her game, its bizarre. Im not even attracted to like sexy stage magician outfits but theres just something about her, man. The thick black hair, the smile, the ridiculous costume, the fishnet stockings, theyre great.

Personality-wise, Zatanna is actually kind of a standard superhero in most respects. Her personality is a lot less unique than her design, is what Im saying, but thats not too bad. What, shes dedicated to the cause of good and justice? Wow, how awful.

Her PWC is where things kind of fall apart. Im mostly into this, but there are a few sticking point. I dont read comics, but it just so happens that one of the few comics I have read is Identity Crisis, where Zatanna says A supervillain raped a superheros wife, so I brainwashed him into being a harmless idiot. Oh, Batman thinks thats a bad thing? Okay, I brainwashed him into forgetting this. Honestly, even if everything else about her is flawless, thats a problem for me. And yeah, shes also a traveling entertainer and adventurer, lets not forget.

Overall, Zatanna is an A+ waifu. The biggest problem here might be that shes constantly surrounded by guys like Batman, who are inevitably way better-looking than youll ever be.

Rosalina is a character who was super overpowered in SSB4. I havent been keeping up, its possible they nerfed her and now shes bad. I doubt it, though, she has a gimmick thats really wide open for being powerful.

Looks-wise, I really like her. Blond hair, silly hair cropped over an eye style (why does that come up so often in this list?), and shes just generally good-looking and graceful. And you cant tell this by the picture, but shes apparently super tall, like 65 at minimum levels of tall. Thatll probably be a problem, actually.

Personality-wise shes a bit weaker. The funny part is that shes still high tier by Mario standards. Honestly, every character in this series is weak as a character except in the RPGs. Still, shes wise, patient, and mature, which makes it weird when she makes excited cries and so on in the sports games. It just seems so out of character.

PWC-wise, well, Im torn. On the one hand, she lives in a weird spaceship surrounded by stars. On the other hand, shes displayed the ability to, like, create universes or something? So I dont think its going to be too hard to have a relationship here. Youre free to disagree.

Overall, shes definitely the best Mario waifu.

Yoko is a human freedom fighter and hotshot sniper in the post-apocalyptic hellscape that is anime I mean, TTGL. She has a tendency to fall in love with men who are about to die, which I have no factored into this ranking.

Looks-wise, Yoko is preposterously hot, and also dressed like a literal prostitute. She and the Major should get together. Anyway, between her big red ponytail sharp enough to cut your neck on and her being in one of the biggest anime ever, and one of the few anime Ive watched, Yoko is one of those classic hot anime girls. Unfortunately, the time skip at the end of the show is only like twenty years but the animators must have thought it was longer, because Yoko and Simon look sixty when theyre supposed to be forty. I guess that just means she ages horribly. And I mean, yeah, she ran around in a wasteland in a bikini, so that makes sense.

Personality-wise, shes the most mature of the main characters on the show, which says absolutely nothing, but is also knowledgeable and caring. But one unstated facet of Yokos personality has to be patience. Shes a kindergarten teacher. Could you handle being in one room with thirty five year-olds all day? Jesus Christ.

PWC-wise, shes got a solid job, works hard, and is only an adventurer because circumstances force her into it.

Overall, Id like to finish this write-up by complaining about how the second half of TTGL gyps its female characters. The three sisters all stay on Earth, and sure, one of them is an administrator the government needs and another just gave birth, but why did the middle sister stay on Earth? To help her sister take care of the baby when her sister was already going to do that? It makes no sense. And even then, just hire a babysitter or something. Yoko and the engineer lady are the only girls who continue to help fight for humanity, by that point Yoko is reduced to basically just another soldier.
