Before they would bend over backwards to make sure you were happy. A friend of mine got a free TV because something was wrong with his order (non-TV), and they refunded the entire thing. He mentioned nothing was wrong with the TV and they told him to just enjoy the free TV. Whenever my local post office would screw up and lie and say they attempted delivery, I would call Amazon and not only would they call the post office and get that sorted ASAP, they would usually credit me something for my trouble.

I call them today because my post office is pulling that fake attempted delivery BS and I'm getting someone who can barely understand English, having me verify my address literally 4 times in a row, having me manually read off my million number long order number (apparently they don't have my info on hand anymore); and in the end the solution given to me was to just wait 2 more days and hope for the best.

What the hell happened?

I ordered a laptop charger and my puppy destroyed it the first day because I left it on the floor leaving in a rush. I called and they refunded me and sent me a new one on Friday

I like them

Triggered so hard, must've heard this about 20-30 times over that call.

Just tried webchat:

You are now connected to Sameer Sanjay from Amazon.com

Fuck my fucking life.

Young Sameer the God, he actually did the thing.

S/he called the post office to get shit done, got the thing escalated so if it's not delivered today, it'll be delivered first thing tomorrow, and I got my Prime extended by a month. This is what I expect when I call Amazon, not that shit I got before. I didn't even care if I got extra Prime out of this, I just wanted my goddamn package. It's meal replacement stuff and I'm hungry as shit, the post office is playing games with my literal food.

Same here, got a Steam Controller for free 'cause of shipping errors.

Got sent somewhere wrong, waited a few days, decided I didn't want it and cancelled, got sent to my house anyway. Same thing happened to a buddy just a few weeks prior.

Every time I've dealt with Amazon customer service it's been complete shit.

And I have to have dealt with them once a year since at least 2013.

"Trying."

"They say they attempted delivery and that is obviously a lie as I've been here all day and there is no notice on my front door."
"Okay sir, that is unfortunate and I apologize for that. So it says a delivery was attempted, did you check the front door for a sticker notification?"
".. Yes, there is no sticker."

"This has happened before, can you call the post office to sort this out?"
"Okay sir, that is unfortunate and I apologize for that. You will have to wait 2 days and if you don't receive it by then, you will be eligible for a refund."
"Okay, but I don't want a refund, I want my package. Could you call the post office and have them actually attempt to deliver the package?"
[5s Pause]
"Sir, you will have to wait 2 days and if you don't receive it by then, you will be eligible for a refund."

The kicker is this package never needs a signature, most of the time it's just left on my front door and I come across it by chance because they never ring the doorbell.

1) The service agent is doing his/her job by making sure you double checking for the notification. They can't just reship items if the post office simply is holding the order.
2) You say this has happened before, but how many time do you think thieves call Amazon to have them reship a "MISSING" package? Nevertheless, Amazon promise to refund you the money, but they have to wait until the final promised delivery date. I'm assuming that's what the 2 days are for. Again, they can't just reship merch because often times the carriers scan for delivery, but still have the package until the final date.
3) You'd have a better time calling the post office yourself. They pretty much roll their eyes whenever a service agent calls on behalf of the customer because the post office is also trying to get the item out to you, but now they feel they're being blamed.

Just wait until the promised delivery date. Once that has passed, then call them up and Amazon will take care of you.

It's as if Amazon doesn't even know how much they have in their own stock.

Their site listed a memory card as being 'In Stock', so I bought 3 of them. The date for when they were supposed to be shipped passed, and then the date it was supposed to arrive passed. I live-chatted with them about it and they said to wait for another 2 weeks.

I gave them 3 months. Still nothing.

Chatted with them again, and the rep said that I'll be getting it in 2 weeks, guaranteed.

Gave them a month.

Talked to CS again. Had to go through 2 different folks who said they could do nothing until I kept demanding to talk to someone higher up.
Finally got to talk to a manager or supervisor, explained how CS had promised me my items months ago, the total wait time being almost half a year, and the constant runaround. Took 40 minutes before he/she decided to 'break policy' and award me 60$ in credit for my troubles.

Like wow.

Then I decided I'd buy another Memory card from them listed 'In Stock'. Atm it's seems like it'll be another repeat (already passed the shipping date and now closing in on the delivery date) unless they overnight it soon.
