okay talked to co-worker and she doesn't want the new lights installed either ("I had to squint when I was walking down the hallway"). so we're going to cover for each other if they come while either of us is out. it works out well because we have a shared door to our offices.

I played like the first chapter and was enjoying it, but heard that it was super fiddly to get the true ending (you have to answer your cell phone at specific times or something?) and then kinda dropped it

There's an extremely easy flow chart out there to follow if you're concerned about getting the True Ending, but I'm pretty sure I got it without using it. I did use it to get all the Trophies though because some of those require either answering or not answering your phones at certain times, and that's not always intuitive.

I am 90% sure I got the true ending the first time through without a guide and without even having knowledge of it. It's possible newbie warned me and I forgot though.

I'm pretty sure I just answered the phone every time, and I was fine. Just save your game before every time in case you hit a dead end (or you get one of the endings) so you can jump back to it, and you'll know not to answer it.

h-scenes in VNs are the most cringeworthy thing about the medium. it's especially frustrating in ones that are pretty much good aside from the hentai, since that stuff comes out of nowhere and really kills the vibe. I know some people say they just skip through them but for me it still bugs me a lot. skipping through it and acting like nothing happened would be like if one of my friends randomly flashed me but I pretended not to see and kept talking to them as if they never did it.
