Kazakus potion has weird rules, if you take the 8/8 demon and aoe sheep the sheep will resolve first but if you take the 8/8 and +6 health it'll summon the demon first. But I don't think it checks if a minion died in between effects so you should still get the spell damage.

alright so there was interest expressed earlier in having a board 8 hearthstone mini tournament. I have a few questions regarding that.

1. would people generally be okay with me running such a tournament? I have no plans to participate and I was thinking that this is probably pretty fair in a way. the person who organizes the tournament should PROBABLY not participate? and since I don't have much interest in participating it makes me potentially a good match. I guess the better way to phrase this question is: "Does anyone specifically have a problem with me being the one organizing a tournament"?

2. do you think it would be a good idea to make a topic specifically for the tournament, as an attempt to draw more people? or would people prefer if I kept it within this topic and we kept the tournament as a more private thing within the existing, established HS Topic group?

3. I lean heavily in favor of keeping the tournament Standard only, but I'm willing to hear from people who are interested in doing a Wild tournament. specifically if most of the people who plan to participate are more interested in a Wild format it seems like that would be the way to go. my rationale is that the biggest issue with the tournament will be card availability. not every board 8 player has access to a full collection and so this gives an advantage to people with the bigger collections. making the format wild would only exacerbate this existing issue.

Regardless of what format we want to use, I will absolutely not be using top-tier decks either way, so I highly doubt anyone will be upset with collection disparity when facing me. It's just that if we go for Standard, I'm kinda forced to go with at least Raza-kus Priest, since it's about the only good deck I actually have the cards for, even though it's one of my least favorite decks to play. I'd much rather play my "use Varian Wrynn to pull out the 3 Grommash Hellscreams I filtered back into my deck with Dead Hand and then Whirlwind OTK" abomination Wild deck.

I play Reno Priest in wild, but without DK, Raza, Velen, Justicar or probably a few other staples I just don't have and won't spend dust crafting, so it's a pretty poor version of the deck.

1. I dont care who runs it as long as they do simple things like make a bracket, etc.

2. I'd make a different topic only to make it easier to see news and updates about it.

3. I prefer standard simply because I dont have the card pool to make a wild list. That's an understatement, I have almost 0 good wild cards. I can barely field 4 decks in standard. That said, as for formats I prefer conquest.

What are the chances of having 8 straight games where you dont draw two specific cards in your first 23 cards? Because I just went 1-7 in winnable matches if I drew like even one piece of the combo at a reasonable time.

Had a game where a deadman warrior ratted my raZa. Like it should have been a matchup he could not lose but Im telling you I made the plays like denying Armor from him and fishing for a second mind blast with Lyra. But I think he ultimately screwed up by playing his dk before he armored up enough to put him out of velen and mind blast burst. Still close though

In any case I wish it wasnt on my phone because Id have a recording for it. It was a good game for to show how small decisions and knowing what the other guy probably was playing helped me win. Of course I had some luck, like I had the perfect kazakus pot (poly the 4/3 armor thing and resummon 2). Or knowing to play Geist proactively the get rid of whirlwinds and shield slams. And the big break was getting the mind blast from lyra but you need the realize you probably need to try that to win. That and knowing I had to switch gears and start being aggressive with my minions

Conversely if he ratted one of the other minions (acolyte and priest of the feast) I think I just win easy because I had shadow reaper in my hand .

One of the best parts about playing Wild is you can still get the random Cho from Piloted Shredder. And then your opponent, who is playing Quest Warlock, will play his quest and give it to you without realizing it.

The Warlock quest is really good when you don't have to discard any cards to get it.

Also won a match where Shadowreaper was the last card I drew (right after I lost a match because it was the last card in my deck). The only reason I won was because the other priest in the second one could not find Raza. I was 3 cards ahead of him but I was fortunate enough to still have all my combo pieces still in my hand so I was able to OTK him.

No, it's the one that summons an AWESOME invention. I used to see it here and there before there was any expansions, but I'm not sure I've seen it played even once since.
